If Portland was tanking badly this season, I'd consider this deal. Seeing as they aren't, this is an awful trade for the Blazers. They would essentially be throwing their season down the toilet by doing this, and that's not what Portland is looking to do right now.

Yes, they save a lot of money, but the cost in terms of on-the-court production is just too great to actually consider this deal.

The idea of trading Nocioni + Sefolosha for Williams + expirings is so the Bulls can dump salary. Instead, you have Portland dumping salary and the Bulls taking those crap contracts on instead, which don't do anything to help us. It's basically Nocioni + Sefolosha + Smith + a future 1st for Webster, Rodriguez and two bad, long-term deals.

This is a downright dreadful deal for the Bulls.

hmm i agree that the deal with NJ is to save money. But instead bulls take on more money but get more talent.

after this proposed trade:
Martell Webster, Sergio Rodriguez, Antoine Wright, Joel Prizbilla, and Darius Miles

after rumored NJ trade:
Antoine Wright and a bunch of expirings...

None of the players the Blazers are bringing in would even make the team..Blazers pass without a second thought....

Actually, Marcus Williams would be the one who accompanies all the expirings.

Nocioni is roughly = Webster right now. While Webster would be a better fit for us because he can play down to the 2, they're still in the same ball park from a talent perspective.

Marcus Williams vs. Rodriguez is probably the same thing. We don't even get anyone who comes close to giving us what Smith does.

We basically take on Miles and Pryzbilla; two guys who are horribly redundant with our current squad and have awful contracts for Rodriguez (backup PG) and Webster (who would either take over the SG spot or back up the 2/3)...oh, and we get the privilege of giving up a first rounder + a young player in Sefolosha in the deal as well.

This is seriously one of the worst deals Cliff Levingston has seen for the Bulls in a while.

When i said Martell Webster > Andres Nocioni Its because Webster can play the 2/3, is younger, and cheaper. Which is kind of what the bulls are looking for.

Maybe its also b/c i really like Sergio Rodriguez and think hes going to be a good player so i probably over rate him but i still dont see anything special with marcus willaims.

Antoine Wright is atleast a decent player who expires.

maybe the deal could be switched so they keep prizbilla or miles and they keep webster...idk?

Plus u say we give up a 1st rounder AND thabo...well bulls could probably keep the 1st rounder and Thabo was included in the NJ trade either way...
