Portland-Charlotte: Felton for Jack & Frye

Post#1 » by fugop » Thu Jan 24, 2008 5:29 am

I'm not really a fan of either of these teams, but I think the trade makes sense for both. It works straight up, Felton for Jack and Frye. All players expire in 09.

Felton would give Portland the quick guard they lack. His shooting percentages are poor, but I suspect he'd improve his efficiency with Roy initiating the half court offense. His quickness in the backcourt would be a nice contrast to Blake's length. At 23, he's a year younger than Jack or Frye, a month older than Roy.

Jack would be a steadier hand at PG for Charlotte, while Frye's perimeter game would provide the first real front court complement to Okafor.

I like Felton better than Jack at this point, and Frye would likely just go to the bench when Sean May returns. I don't think this is a good idea for Charlotte.

Yeah, Webster and/or Portland's draft pick would need to be included. I like the general idea though. I want to see Portland get an upgrade at the point

I watch practically nil of the Bobcats, but Felton isn't one of those can't miss point guards. And with Roy playing PG often, won't his liabilities as a shooter hurt the blazers? Correct me if I'm wrong

Like it for Charlotte. Not for Portland.

Felton and Roy on the same team is redundant and Roy is much better at distributing the ball and scoring when needed.

Plus Felton will be talking extension in the summer of '09. That's the year when the Blazers will clear a lot of cap and I doubt they want to tie it up in Raymond Felton.

Not a fan of this for Portland. I dont think Felton is a great fit on the Blazers.

Man, Portland fans seriously wouldn't give up Jack and Frye for Felton??! Even if you feel Felton isn't the greatest fit, he's definitely an upgrade to Jack and has a lot more value than Frye and Jack combined.

Felton isn't the type of guard who would fit well next to Roy.
