Indy, Nets ans Knicks blockbuster trade

Post#1 » by Bit's » Fri Jan 25, 2008 1:29 pm

Pacers trade: Jermaine O'Neal + Marquis Daniels + David Harrison (or Ike Diogu)

for

Stephon Marbury + 1st Round pick from Knicks (top 3 or 5 Protected, with no protection in 09)

Why: Get a probably very high pick, we'd have to get Marbury, but he'll expire next season.

I'd, if necessary, put Diogu instead Harrison to make this trade happens.

----------

Nets trade: Vince Carter + Jamal Magloire + Jason Collins

for

Jermaine O'Neal + Marquis Daniels + David Harrison (or Diogu)

Get a low post scorer, and one of the best defenders in the league. A big who is more useful than Collins (if is Diogu is much more talented and useful) and good replacement for Carter.

Kidd | Marcus Williams
Daniels | Wright
Jefferson | Nachbar
JO | Ike Diogu
Sean Williams | Boone | Nenad

-------------------------------

Knicks trade: Stephon Marbury and a 1st Round pick

for

Vince Carter and Jamal Magloire

Why: They get the superstar that they want, an expiring contract and get rid of Marbury. They take the risk to give the pick, but is protected and they have a good chance to improve a lot with Carter there.

Jamal Crawford | Nate Robinson
Vince Carter | Fred Jones
Quentin Richardson | Renaldo Balkman
Zach Randolph | David Lee
Eddy Curry | Jamal Magloire

Jamaal Magliore is a stiff. Do a google on the worlds "NBA" and "stiff" and Magliore's picture will show up. Honestly, the guy plays like he's got cement shoes on and for a center to have a FG% in the low 30's is just atrocious.

If they want to get rid of Marbury they can buy him out OR just tell him to sit home and collect his check like they did Penny Hardaway OR they might actually find a team that will want his soon to be expiring $20 million.

NY doesn't need another offense-centric perimeter player with questionnalbe desire even with Marbury out of the picture.

1st round pick is without a doubt a "heck no".

I'm not sold on the Knicks' need to be involved either, moocow007. It depends on how highly Indy would value that pick, I suppose. Also, the Pacers would take the expiring Magloire, and stick NYK with Murphy or something like that. BTW, on the stiff topic, how's Jerome James? Still signed for 3 more years? Yeah, I thought so.

Anyway, NJ accepts if JO returns to full health, and it's Diogu and not Harrison. OR, they could throw in a future 2nd, and grab Shawne Williams instead of Ike.

Marbury for Carter is more fair...Marbury expires at the end of next season. Carter has four more years left. No reason to add a top 10 first.

I put Magloire to Knicks because he's expiring, I think it'd be an incentive for Knicks do the trade.

Carter in a Knicks uniform I also don't know if it's a good idea, but seems like Iiah really wants him. And he's one of the best SG in the league.

If the Knicks really improve, even a little bit, Knicks would give a 7th or 8th pick for Carter. And it is fair in my opinion.

And the 7th and 8th position in the East are wide open, the Knicks with Vince, can make a run a get a playoff position. If it happens, and it isn't unlikely, they'd give a 15th pick for Vince.

It's a risk, but I don't think it's a big risk because is very possible the Knicks goes to the Playoff, in the East, with Vince.

I wouldn't trade any young talent for VC. He won't be nearly as effective for the Knicks as he is in Jersey with Kidd feeding him passes and even then his effectiveness this season hasn't be as good.
