Trade

There have been trade rumors that the Jazz are thinking about giving up their #3 pick and Memo for Andre Iguadola and Jodie Meeks. What do you guys think?

Unless you can provide a source, then I assume that the rumor is only among you and your three other poker buddies. So have fun discussing it in that circle, because the Jazz would never do it. They are in rebuild mode, so Iggy makes no sense.

Anyway you could provide a source? 99% of trade rumors are started at the water cooler. <- and that is an official stat that I made up.

Anyway, I wouldn't do it. I like Iguadola, but he has a huge contract. Rounding up...
14 million
15 million
16 million

Memos contract is...
11 million and done

That's a lot of money! To take on a contract like that the 76ers should be giving us draft picks, not the other way around. The only way I see a trade for Iguadola involves Big Al. Depending who the Jazz take at #3, it might be tempting. Big Al's contract...
14 million
15 million

Balances out much better. I like Big Al, and would hate to see him go. Iguadola would be intriguing and if the Jazz are going to move Big Al, he might be a viable option.

Harris
Hayward
Iggy
Favors
Kanter

Meh... I prefer

Harris
Hayward
Williams
Favors
Big Al

Not worth the 3rd pick at this point.

I would "consider" trading the pick under this situation

UTAH Gets:
IGGY
#16 Pick
Spieghts
J.Meeks
C.Brackins

PHI Gets:
Big Al
#3 Pick
R.Bell

Would prefer thaddues young to be included over a couple of those guys but that might be too much. I would prefer keeping the pick but just entertaining the rumor
BRING JAMAAL FRANKLIN TO UTAH!!!!!

No way Jazz do this. If we were looking to add that last piece to make us a contender, then yes, that would make sense.

But we are in rebuild with Favors and Hayward and they will need a few years. Maybe in a few years we make a move like this to add that last piece, but imo this doesn't make sense right now.

Would you guys trade Millsap to PHX? Anything other than Gortat and Dudley.

Lopez, Pietrus and #13 for Millsap?

Or a 3 way trade;

Suns get: Millsap
Bulls get: Lopez, Pietrus
Jazz get: Asik

One to two years of Nash could put the Jazz in contention. I think Nash will have Kidd/Stockton like longevity.

Harris, Millsap, GSW pick for Nash,Lopez, 13th pick. I don't know if it works salary wise but that's a trade I'd consider. Lopez either becomes the dirty work big off the bench or the token starter next to Jefferson.

If that were to go down, 3rd for Iggy makes sense. It's a Boston rebuild. You resign AK and Earl with that lineup.

Our managment isnt trading Nash. They have come out and said it a lot that they wanna compete with Nash.

Imo we should trade Steve but it aint likely to happen.

Thats why trading for Millsap would be going all in for one final season of Nash.

Maybe Aaron Brooks (sign and trade 4 yr $24 mil deal) and Lopez and 13th pick for Harris, Millsap and a late 1st. (we get the 1st rd pick since we're taking on Harris's contract)

Harris is our starting PG. So we have to throw in a 1st round pick for you to take him as well as downgrade to Aaron Brooks (stats are down in literally every category except FT% where Brooks is 5% better) and then we get Lopez (6pts 3 rbs) and the #13 for Millsap? Not exactly what I would call a good deal for the Jazz.

Harris is your starting PG but you can't deny that he's crazy overpaid. And besides, most mocks have you guys drafting Knight at #3 so it ain't a problem anyway. And AB had one bad season. Before this season he was Most Improved Player and he's still young so he can probably get his game back. Lopez was also good before this season, not offensively but defensively. Also a 22 year 7'0 footer.

Maybe Lopez, Brooks and VC (expiring) for #12, Millsap, Bell and Harris. You guys shed even more salary.

OR

#13, Lopez, VC, Brooks for Okur (expiring) and Millsap. You guys gain another lottery pick without losing one.

I wouldn't say that Devin is crazy overpaid. Most mocks are made by people less smart than us.

I'd say Harris > Brooks, Milsap > Lopez, VC > Bell (but we don't need an expiring or our of Bell's contract enough to dump the 12th too).

I think I would be more happy with the second one but I rather not do it still. We don't really need 12 and 13.
