Just an FYI, if the Knicks need to MAX OG Anunoby, they cannot trade Fournier for a guy like Brogdon without being over the second tax apron next year unless they let Hartenstein leave and even then, they would still be over the first apron.

I assume in the first post there you have Hartenstein on the MLE?
If he is going to sign a 4 year MLE deal then you keep Hartenstein every day of the week.
Gafford and Robinson expire the same year and I'm not sure that's a good thing where at least if you have Hartenstein for that extra year you have that in your back pocket in case Robinson leaves.

Which team could go full fire-sale over the next week? I could see Brooklyn because their parts have real value, but they need a legitimate star.

Would the Warriors use Moody to save a ton of money...
Moody and CP3 (waived and signs with Lakers) to Pistons
Alec Burks and Monte Morris to Warriors
Killian Hayes and '24 Earlier of Grizzlies/Wizards 2nd to Wizards
How much is $14.4 Million in savings with the tax implications?

if i'm the raptors i only sell poeltl in offseason if i have a deal in place with Claxton agreed upon. otherwise we are left with a giant hole at C once again and that is disastrous for Barnes/IQ moving forward

Yeah I have Poeltl as fine on the Raptors and no reason to move on unless incentivized.

So Memphis needs a center next year but on a budget. Minnesota would like another PG and to keep that defensive identity.
So Smart for Naz with Anderson/Aldama thrown in for salary/roster balance? Feels pretty fair, maybe the Wolves kick in a skosh of value?

Smart and Aldama for 1 year of naz feels like an overpay. Memphis also end up with a hole at backup PG.
Conversely i think smart cost too much for wolves

I’m a Josh hart fan. I loved him when he was on the Pels but man I do not think that contract is good. He’s regressed even more on offense and is getting passed up by Donte. 18m for a 7th-8th man is a lot and I’m not sure how playable he is in the playoffs

Re: Thoughts in General, Random Rumors and Musings, Blah Blah 14.0 Eddie Najera Edicion
I'm struggling so much to think a Lavine to Detroit trade that makes sense for the Pistons given the Bulls insistence on "competing". I feel like unless they're ready to do something monumentally dumb like offering up Ivey...since Cade & Zach would soak up all the backcourt usage...or Sasser + Stewart + the pick they can trade, the Bulls won't bite for expirings alone.
Maybe something like Kuzma + expirings for Lavine? Bulls downgrade but save money and get a bigger body that lets DDR & PW slide down a spot? That framework can kinda make sense for all 3 given the impression that their FO's putting out, but I'm just not sure AK will go to ownership with an offer to sell his "Allstar" for just Kyle Kuzma
...even if I think Kuzma would be a surprisingly good fit. I'm just really struggling to come up with what Detroit has to trade outside of their kids if they're not willing to talk Bojan. Am I missing something? Was Detroit just doing their due diligence wrt expirings for Lavine? Or is Weaver about to do something really really dumb?

Dude saw that he was heading to the Pistons and hit the nuclear button.

Honestly, seems like a blessing for Detroit that they didn't buy in on a guy who had a lingering foot injury. I think teams will reevaluate in the off-season, but being honest, I am not convinced that there will be buyers.

I think it is more he saw he wasn't being traded and would have had to reintegrate.
Absolutely doesn't sound like Chicago and he are a marriage for long term.

I'm interested in Utah. I'd probably do Hendricks for Green (and maybe an additional asset). Balances both rosters nicely.

I'm predicting LaVine to Charlotte for Hayward and Bridges. Chicago gets some forward depth and does their usual "we're trying to win" thing, but also clears a ton of money. Charlotte gets a really good player for non long-term assets and doesn't hurt their lottery odds. They shouldn't do it, they should just continue rebuilding, but I think there will be some urgency to make Ball happy, and it's not like LaVine has consistently prevented his teams from getting high picks...

15 minutes ago, I’d have really liked this deal.
Now I think I’d just give Bridges an 4yr80 mill with only the first year guaranteed. probably front load it so he makes sure he gets 25m guaranteed.. Or whatever the sweet spot is that he deserves/agrees to/is worth.
