Are we talking about the right books this time? Or is MarShoon in the deal?

Ahh, so nevermind on that Houston needing to add a tiny bit of money, they're not hard capped as it is

I get the want to do right by superstars - but it feels like Phoenix could’ve got more value elsewhere.

And I think I was pretty low on KD.

PHX not able to squeeze one of their picks (sorry Chuck) is a coup for Houston.

Also the rivalry with OKC just got a lot more firepower.

They did get one of their picks back. This year.

This is a terrible deal for Phoenix when viewed through the lens of what they gave up to get him two years ago. They’d obviously be light years better off if they’d kept Bridges and their picks.

But that cost has been sunk for a while and they didn’t have much in the way of leverage.

I think they made lemons from lemonade. The franchise damaging mistakes were made in years past. This is merely part of the aftermath.

I think they must value Green potential more than us.

But mostly I think pick 10 is what intrigued them. They probably want Sorber, Malauch or Queen.

Compared to what they paid to get KD they didn't get a lot. Unless Green explodes and becomes a star, and they pick really well with #10.

But now they have Green, Beal and Booker all 2 guards and no real point guard.

Will we see a trade of Booker next?

I can't help but feel bad for Suns fans. I have to imagine that the Ishbia era is making them nostalgic for Sarver.

Happy that the Wolves weren't in the deal though.

Sure, not surprised at all. Suns fans are shocked because they had ridiculous expectations, at the end of the day this was a 37 year old player on an expiring deal actively pushing teams out, it was a horrible position to negotiate from and overall I don't think they did too bad all things considered.

I mean HOU held an auction, and that's the best they could get. The market set the price so onto the next deals.

Houston loves this for sure. Dump Green and get even better first round picks from Pheonix.
That's lopsided for Houston favor. Pheonix should have taken Minny's offer or keep KD.
But things change in NBA. Houston becomes a more relevant team now if someone else could play the role Brooks once play.

I have real questions as to how Green's PPP was calculated given the trade is technically happening in 24-25.

1) It's less than the MLE
2) He can be traded later

Remarkable deal for Houston. None of the coveted young players or future Suns picks.

Is Brooks and Green at their salaries plus #10 positive value? If so, not by a lot.

As the matching money, I have Green + Brooks as slightly negative. Green is definitely negative, but there’s still a chance he matures some (but Phoenix’s current situation is not that chance… no real starting PG and Green is a lot of sketchy shots). Brooks is a positive on his deal. A few seconds would even that out. So looks like #10 and a couple seconds plus matching money for KD. Not terrible, given the situation. Smart for Houston. Not smart for Phoenix unless they have a Green or Beal maneuver figured out already.

Brooks, Green and #10 is positive value. Brooks + Green isn't. I'd have Brooks slightly positive but Green further negative.

I would have expected a dela more like Brooks, Green, #10, some extra incentive out from Houston with Green and the extra incentive to a 3rd team for something Phoenix can use (C, PF, PG, salary relief).

I can't believe a deal that brings Green to Phoenix was the best they could do (even with my low expectations for a KD deal).
