I fully agree, it's the perfect deal if the Clippers do want to dump Randolph. Darko is a decent post defender and Jaric already knows Dunleavy's system and we liked him here in LA. I'd throw in Sofoklis' rights as well if Memphis wants to have another prospect big to go with Gasol/Haddadi.

Manhattan Project wrote:Well Ive heard that Randolph will never be traded twice and well we all know that he has been moved before. So saying that you need to include the first pick or prospects is just outrageous. Low post scoring is still a commodity at the end of the day.

Mardy Collins and ZBO for Hinrich and Tim Thomas or Jerome James.

I also liked that three way involving the Grizz.

Another deal I like. James will more than likely be waived, and Thomas could just be bought out. I'd like to keep Collins, but that isn't a deal breaker.

I think it's time to embrace ZBO for what he will be.

A nice, big fat, expiring contract during the 2010/2011 season.

Looking at the Clippers and all their bigs I don't really think it is rocket science.

Camby expires this upcoming season so he should fetch a decent player with all the teams positioning themselves for the 2010 free agent bonanza. Probably the big most likely to be moved.

Kaman is on a pretty reasonable contract and personally I think he would pair really well with Griffin, and for a while

And then there is ZBO and his ugly contract that in one more season will turn into gold even though he might be a pile of poop.

So if I was the Clipper GM I'd trade Camby. Keep Kaman. And put ZBO on the bench.

If he complains just tell him he has 33.3million reasons why he needs to STFU.

And then let him know that if he is truly unhappy they will do whatever they can to help facilitate a trade. But they have to have a willing team to trade him to, and that's the tricky part. But eventually someone will trade for him even if it's simply for his contract.

So enjoy the bench ZBO because that's where you will be sitting for the next couple years.

^ Dumbleavy isn't smart enough to think that...

Seems like Chicago and Memphis are two possible destinations.

How bout Peja and Mo Pete for Randolph.

New Orleans saves abot 3 or 4 mil and gets a good big for their frontcourt . They also have the depth at the swing spots to absorb the loss of two guys.

LA gets a couple of shooters which should make things easier for Kaman and Griffin .

^^ That's an additional 4 mil for next season (by that I mean 2010/11, 2009/10 has already started for Clipper fans :D), and it simply isn't worth it. I'm going to steal a post from Gobb on ISH, which says everything I believe.

GOBB wrote:Its really simple and I discussed this in the other thread where a poster said Clippers will have to trade Brand if they take Griffin or trade Davis if they draft Rubio. Neither has to happen. Blake Griffin does NOT have to start. I'm not sure where you have to start the kid and why being a 6th man, first guy in the frontcourt rotation isnt an option.

Marcus Camby has a tradeable contract (think he is an expirer that comes off the books for the 2010 season)
Chris Kaman has been in trade rumors

You have two options to get rid of one if you are worrying about minutes being spread out with the addition of Griffin. No one is going to eat Zack's deal. Buying Zack out isnt even an option. Its borderline silly to even suggest. Zack produced and played well for the Clippers dispite being injured.

Zack is gone in 2 seasons. If it comes to a point of moving Zack? You can do it not this season but next 2010-11 season where a team who lost out on the FA frenzy might want his as an option or as a cap expirer. Or maybe Clippers let him play out his deal. Lots of options, getting rid of Zack this offseason isnt one.

Sixers cant get anyone to eat Sammy's 2yrs remaining (cheaper than Zach). How is LAC going to lure someone to eat Zack's deal? Heck why? Dude is productive.

We didn't trade Chauncey so we could have enough cap space to trade for Zach Randolph.

End-o-story.

It would take a desperate team to trade for Randolph (which is how he ended up on the clippers btw). No team with real caproom is desperate
