i wouldn't do that either, but that's far from the worst case scenario when it comes to Jeff. If he is trying to tear things down, I would fully expect him to fall for a poopoo platter of late 1sts that leaves us with a perennial roster crunch and minimal talent

He dominated to the tune of 8/8 and a block per game. Sure, he had 2 great games in the series, but using that metric Mathurin dominated us too. Lively has become overrated on the back of that playoff run and his inability to stay on the court.

It wasn't just the PO, it was the entire season, his impact stats are off the charts, and Mavs lineup data with, exactly what you expect from a defensive anchor.

Nick Collison was the impact stat MVP for several years playing as a low minute defensive big too. Defensive anchors have to be able to stay on the floor, and he hasn't proven that. He's a good player, but he is overvalued.

We'll agree to disagree, he did this as a rookie, and he didn't need to play more because of Gafford.

Hope Hardy is getting moved out, but I'll assume its Prosper.

But Exum back is a small win. He will only play half the games but he gives them another ball-handler who can defend, makes enough jumpers to keep you honest and pushes the pace, something the team needs.

You don't have to worry about that. Miami wouldn't touch that.

Either way, I think Indy just rides it out a bit and takes some growing pains at the 5. :dontknow:

Makes sense. I liek the swap for Dallas if they could then move Klay for a playable backup 5. But of course, doesnt mean Indy has to like it. Maybe if Tyrese wasnt out they'd consider it.

Maybe. But they might have actually went into the tax if Hali was healthy. Reportedly. Allegedly.
WOuld a guy ;like Grimes be on Indy's list if Mathurin is moved?

Would just keep Mathurin, right? Especially at his rookie contract when Grimes wants $25-30m immediately. Indy can’t fit his new contract in. And keep the guy we know, that knows us, etc.

love local media sometimes. Townsend trying to suggest Indy take Powell to solve their center needs cuz Rick loves him. Pretty sure Rick knows he's washed, Brad....

Kuzma and 2031 pick swap for MPJ?

Turner
Giannis
MPJ

Kind of a great front court to maximize Giannis. Then use the 2032 pick to upgrade the backcourt? It is horrible for their future, but ...

I mean, it’s possible, but Indy could still bring back Thomas Bryant and Tony Bradley and hope Isaiah Jackson returns to health quickly. And even possibly resigning James Johnson, though I’m under the impression he’s retiring. But if they decide they just want another vet to help stabilize the spot, Powell would likely be a possibility.

I *think* they have enough filler to put something together.

Right now it looks like Indiana doesn't have an NBA center on the team and no plans to get one. I have no idea what centers are still out there but it's gonna stink having Bradley and Bryant as the center rotation. Jackson might be able to play by Jan 2026 is my guess.

Anyone thought about how the Pels are given that they gave up the 26 Indy pick?

Are you suggesting that the Nets trade Michael Porter Jr for Kuzma and a pick? The extra Salary has to go to the Nets I don't see the Bucks with pieces to fill this in.

Ya, IDK how MIL makes it work but I like it for both sides.

For Kuzma and a swap. Kuzma, Livingston, Green, Jackson and Smith make the salaries work - what I am not sure is how much room they'd have under the apron, etc. so it still might not be CBA legal. But this would mean Brooklyn cuts down MPJ's salary and gets an asset with real upside for them. Losing Jackson and Green sucks for Milwaukee's depth, but they have none, anyway. I think they can effectively fill out the rotation around them with minimums just as well as they can with their current time considering every second Kuzma is on the court is a net-negative for the team.

Turner/Sims
Giannis/Portis
MPJ/Prince
Trent/Harris
KPJ

Add say ... Brogdon, Rollins, Boucher, and Coffey on minimum contracts and I think you have an alright rotation with players that fit.

Turner/Boucher/Sims
Giannis/Portis/Prince
MPJ/Coffey/Prince
KPJ/Trent/Harris

I know he wants to go LA, but Chris Paul to Bucks seems like a good fit.
