Re: Random Rumors and Trade Board General Thoughts Thread
According to the morning radio guy here in Sac, he just said that nobody in the ownership group is trying to influence McNair with the draft or where to take the team. I mean I'd imagine if he did make a move it would need approval.
But claims each ownership group sorta has its own routes to "network" and they've got nothing.
Guess this means just about anything can happen in Sacramento if it is true. I'll believe it down the road though, we'll see.

I guess this all depends on if Okoro would still be there at #8.
I think the only team you would have to worry about selecting Okoro before 8 is if Atlanta keeps their pick at 6. He's not going top three and I don't think I've seen anything about him being targeted by Chicago or Detroit.
Yeah Okoro is not going to go top 4. So it comes down to if the Cavs feel if the Hawks/Pistons might swoop him up. The Hawks screwed the Cavs last year by taking Hunter right before them so they could do it again with Okoro as well.
I will say, if the Cavs can walk away from this draft with Okoro/Knox/#23 pick to draft whoever I would feel fantastic.

I dont mean this harshly, but I often forget the Kings exist as a team lol Im on East coast so I never get to see them play and they dont get many primetime games. Its like everytime they get a promising player they go somewhere else. Hows Bagley looking?

Locke doesn't seem to have the access he normally does, but he leaks our pick almost every year (didn't w/Mitchell because he was told he'd be fired if he breathed a word about the workout). So, pencil in Woodard at 28. Still might not happen, but if the trend continues, that's out guy.

Hopefully not injured, then I can say more later. He's like a lottery ticket now, I don't think anyone knows for sure.
But we've had so much meddling between ownership groups, and the lead owner Vivek in the past, so this is good news but hard to believe.
Dave normally doesn't bs us and even when he can't say much he gives enough clues to where we can figure things out. So I know he has sources in all sorts of places inside the team.

Is he making serious offers or lowball offers?
1. Minnesota
2. Golden State
3. Charlotte
4. Chicago
5. Cleveland
I have none of the above wanting to be known as his chump, so I don't think Ainge gets anything done unless he gets serious with his offers.

If Wendell's relatively healthy I like the 2 to 4 swap quite a lot for GS.

I don't really understand it for the bulls given how unimpressive the top of this draft is unless the really love whoever they think will be twoeminence wrote:If Wendell's relatively healthy I like the 2 to 4 swap quite a lot for GS.

If true, the Cavs should absolutely do this. I'd ask for next year's Dallas first instead.LivingLegend wrote:Per Cleveland.com @ChrisFedor the Knicks have been in constant contact trying to trade up to #5 with Cavs to select Obi Toppin.

Yeah hopefully the Knicks can offer a good enough package to save the Cavs from themselves by drafting Toppin

Woodard is really underrated and seems like a perfect Jazz kind of player. Super versatile on the defensive end and a developing offensive game. I really like the fit.

I think all injury related updates this close to the draft should be met with skepticism, but a toe fracture rather than some other kind of foot issue seems to indeed be something to not overly worry about. Anyone have a different take on this?

Thunder decline option on Deonte Burton making him a free agent. I did not know Deonte Burton existed or had an NBA contract until I read this news. But he's also played in 71 games so I probably should have.

The Hawks are most linked to Okongwu, Haliburton, and Avdija. Most times the leaks about who the Hawks like are solid. They were linked to both Hunter and Reddish last year. Everyone knew they liked Luka and Trae the year before. John Collins was no secret either and they almost traded up to make sure hey got him.
No on site workouts are probably making it tougher to get good reads but I do like those three for the Hawks.

I'd been trying to dump him in unrelated trades for about a year.

Yeah, I see no real reason to care about a broken toe, never in my life have I heard of that being a chronic problem.

yeah I'm not really worried about this anymore. If he's good to go in a few weeks, I have no problems whatsoever taking him at #3 if we can't get Wiseman
investigate Adam Silver

I feel like it used to be 3pm (EST) that trades involving draft picks tonight cannot be finalized before the draft, as they wanted to lock in their hats and graphics and such.
Has anyone heard if there is not the same thing this year?
