It's a vibe I get from most GSW folks... even a 4th or 5th incoming star must fit absolutely perfectly and be gotten for a bargain, while what they send out can be JAGS or useless to the other team's objectives.

Yes, so many stars coming back to GS in that deal.

I didn't say there were stars coming back in this particular deal... but suggested it is one that aims to make GSW a proper title contender by not giving up much and without even a little consideration for Dallas' objectives. Even my KP suggestion was made keeping in mind his potential upside/fit when playing alongside Curry, Klay and Dray (because of their play-making and movement, which he'd benefit from... and Dray's ability to help him on defense)... with only KP's health being a truly valid concern for GSW IMHO.

Then maybe don't do that bit while directly quoting my deal ehh?

And KP is not someone I'm interested in for GS at all (or any other fan I've spoken with). I wouldn't trade Wiggins for him straight up.

I think you missed my point but fair enough, lol. These are all "fake trades", so I'm not getting bent over any of them... if that's how I'm coming across. Was simply hoping you'd send a nice pick or young player (or two) Dallas' way. :D

Trade Bagley for Wiseman at the cost of downgrading Barnes. Still get decent win now talent and Wiggins may fit better than Hield.

Honest question that I'll probably get shouted at about: does Wiseman even have more value than Bagley? And if so is it more than a 2nd rounder?

Sure you've got him for 2 extras years and then RFA, but you're also paying him $10m a year for that honor and, outside play wise he appears worse than Bagley. Bagley had the better rookie year, he's somehow less injury prone than Wiseman, and he at least has some signal at previous levels (college).

There's also the question of organizations: I'd trust GSW to be able to get the most out of a player when compared to the Kings. So what's it say that Wiseman was so bad in his first year?

yes Wiseman has more value than Bagley. Bagley has 3 years of failure. Wiseman has one.

The value was not off significantly for Dallas even if they weren't all that interested in the Kleber/DFS/filler for Barnes deal. If they'd gotten a nice pick/young player or two in the deal it'd simply be a rip off in favor of Dallas.

If an individual front office didn't value Wiseman I wouldn't be surprised, but on average across the league, I would guess that yes Wiseman has significantly more value than Bagley (not a guarantee he will fulfill that value obviously).

Or our FO sucks way way more than I thought possible (like if the rest of the league would've let Wiseman drop into the mid 1st round but we reached at pick #2). I didn't see any indications at the time it was a huge reach like that though, though I wasn't his biggest fan he still seemed pretty consensus top 5 at the least.

It’s not anywhere close either. Wiseman’s theoretically worth a top 7 protected 1st. Bagley doesn’t get a 1st at all.

Generally speaking I've been trying to value Wiseman as a mid to late lotto pick in various deals.

How much has Simmons to Memphis has been discussed?

On here not a ton. On Memphis twitter there was a stretch where that was all that was talked about lol. Ultimately I don't know if Memphis would be willing to pay what it would cost due to the lack of shooting Simmons has. That seems to be something they have really put an emphasis on and the reason they want JJJ at center. If we could get him relatively cheap then sure, but I don't see Philly doing that plus there are other packages Philly should take first.

What would the trade be based on?

JJJ for Simmons?

I honestly think the Cavs should not just want to move Sexton because of the impending contract issue, but also need to move him. He's honestly getting in the way of Garland. . My fear for them is that they dont find a solid return for Sexton and end up keeping and paying him. Let the Garland/Mobley era begin

I don't know if Garland is that good. His defense needs improvement.

I think his offense is near special tho. 40% 3pt shooter, great handles and penetration skills and legit PG abilities. His defense needs work, but he's a pg. All he really needs to do is get to an average level which i think he can

I was thinking more depth+picks. Not sure at what rate these days, most of the recent offers I’ve seen for Simmons have been really rough for Philly. But Brooks/Melton/Anderson would work salary wise I think. Finding the right pick balance, more tricky. Maybe Philly would want a 3 teamer getting back a more notable player with those incoming picks.

Roughly like this?

PHI In: Murray/Brooks/Anderson/1st from Memphis
PHI Out: Simmons

MEM In: Simmons
MEM Out: Brooks/Anderson/Melton/2 1sts

SAS In: Melton/1st from Memphis
SAS Out: Murray

Maybe Jones in place of Melton? White works in place of Murray I'd say as well. Memphis has a pretty big collection of 1sts to adjust value somewhat that way.

Is there a point where a Zion trade becomes realistic between now and the start of next season?

I think only if he demands out and the Pels are pretty convinced he's never going to take care of his body while playing for them. Then maybe they try and get a king's ransom for him while they can.

But not too realistic I don't think.

Yeah I was going to post a Zion for Rui, Deni and picks galore deal, but decided against it.

What would Charlotte have to add in a framework of PJ Washington, Bouknight, and Oubre for Jarrett Allen

Charlotte could have gotten Allen way cheaper last year but for some dumb reason didn't. But they need a rebounding center in the worst way
