Re: Random Rumor and General Offseason Discussion Thread
This guy's not supposed to be reliable, right? I mean if Crawford finds a team after 3 years straight of being one of the worst players in the league... man. And if he ends up on a young team like last year? Double Yikes.

Guys who can shoot stick around long after their sell-by date. It's not always a good idea, but it's reality.

Jarret Allen isn’t winning you anything. Garland won’t show up in the playoffs. Mobley is a glorified dunk man. Mitchell has some experience but is a liability on defense. To me, the Cavs are a treadmill team.

First of all, I blame you for making me check this.
Second, he's about 36% as a catch-and-shoot guy over the past two years and most of it is wide-open. I'm not sure how good of a shooter he really is in comparison to other guys who play as a guard.
I rather have a g-leaguer like Andre Ingram lol.

Doesn't this affect Indy's ability to trade any of those intervening picks?
Yeah, they need to have the same rolling protection.
"Indiana trades its 2022 pick to Team X, unless their owed pick to Milwaukee doesn't convey in 2020, in which case the 2022 pick to Team X becomes the 2023 pick, unless their owed pick to Milwaukee doesn't convey in 2021 either, in which case the 2022 pick to Team X becomes the 2024 pick..." and so on until the 7-year limit kicks in and the pick becomes 2 seconds or whatever.

In a way. We would have to write in “to be transferred two seasons after previous pick is transferred to Milwaukee. With other things like turning into 2nds or such at the end.

Was really hoping it would turn into two 2nds after a few years. Ugh.

Has Indiana ever gone 6 straight seasons without making the playoffs? I mean I agree you hate to ever give up a totally unprotected pick, but this feels like a pretty safe bet.

If the Pacers don't make the playoffs at any point over the next six years, I'm not sure the pick is going to be the problem.

How did I not know this? I didn't realize there was such a gap there. I am genuinely stunned to learn this.

Also, Shams says James Ennis is back to Philly, looks like 2/vet min.

HAHAHA. I can't wait to see Draymond rip Willie a new one. If Willie responds positively, this might be one of the biggest signings of the offseason. If he responds how I think he will, he will play 15 mpg off the bench and be roller on offense and a liability on D.
