To add to the insanity:
If he's basing that on his play in college, he's wrong. If he's basing that on his play in the NBA, he's also wrong and glossing over the fact he's 25.

Kupchak has fallen so far from his Lakers days. (That ending was brutal too though)
Rest in peace Mamba. There'll never be another Kobe.

I really like D12 as a pickup for the Clips. They could do a lot of load management and try to save him for the playoffs as a defensive big and if they have him at 75% it's still a huge upgrade imo.
Edit: They didn't sign him. I'm just thinking out loud.

lmao. Even though it doesnt really matter (probably) Boston still got more incentive and the better player. whyyyyyy?
Boston was able to sign Kemba straight up. Charlotte wasn’t able to sign Rozier without a S&T and assistance of Boston. Charlotte likely had to compensate Boston for that.

Memphis going after yet another 2nd? Or are they just trying to get a 3rd PG for the roster now that they didn't resign Wright?

As long as he doesn't get involved in any pick n pops or has to defend more than 6 feet from the basket.
He also prefers to just call his own number than run any offensive plays

Some fallout from the Jerami Grant trade:
Wonder if he'll get snapped up more quickly now that RFA is off the table!

It's official. I'm 100% on board for cutting JR if we can sign Lyles to a team friendly deal.

Jarret Allen isn’t winning you anything. Garland won’t show up in the playoffs. Mobley is a glorified dunk man. Mitchell has some experience but is a liability on defense. To me, the Cavs are a treadmill team.

Pretty remarkable how much lower the tax bill is league wide. And I don't think those teams are done yet either.
I would expect Miami, OKC, and Cleveland to all get out.
Maybe GS too, if they are gearing up to resign Dray and get back to spending, could use a year out.

OKC surely gets out with their Westbrook deal. Cleveland gets out with JR Smith option decline almost. Miami might add if they get Westbrook, Detroit would go into the tax if they add Westbrook.

Miami is hard capped I think, although I thought that had to be above the apron so maybe not.

Fwiw Miami is hard capped so they don't have too much to work with.

Re: Random Rumor and General Offseason Discussion Thread
I believe Detroit used the MLE on Derrick Rose so they are also hard capped.

Re: Random Rumor and General Offseason Discussion Thread
Is Apron about 7M over tax threshold?
If a team spent the non-tax payer MLE it means they can't spend into the tax at all or just same apron hard cap? Detroit spent non-tax payer MLE money on Derrick Rose signing.

Hopefully, he has matured since being in Utah, he didn't like how much we practiced : / (beyond not liking Salt Lake, but I'm not going to begrudge anyone for having a preference on location).

This is the section on the hard cap if anyone wants to parse the specifics as to MIA and DET.

LOL at the Cavs having the highest payroll in the league right now. They should've just cut JR.

That would make three PGs. Who's likely have the least limited minutes between the three if this deal were to go down?
