Re: OFFICIAL: DLO TO MINNY
Next year around this time, I have a feeling people are going to start labeling GS as the winners of this trade. Better draft, and a sure fire lotto pick for them.

Is there something personality/chemistry wise that we are missing with him? We know about the Nick Young stuff, but is there something else. He seems like too good of a player to be moved this many times. Is there some other explanation?
There is nothing less valuable than a max guy only useful as a primary option who does nothing to elevate those around him. These guys are ceiling cappers. He's essentially Monta Ellis with no athleticism and a 3-pt shot. He puts up counting stats and a cursory glance suggests he's good.
But these are the players you most want to avoid getting committed to long-term. You just can't win with them. People are going to give me his volume 3-pt shooting this year and tell me he can play off-ball. Good luck with that. Now you need a primary creator who can defend wings because he can't do that either. Jason Kidd isn't walking through that door.
I think everything you just said is truer about Wiggins than about Russell. Russell has 6.2 APG this year playing with scrubs, while Wiggins has 3.7 APG playing with KAT, among others. I would love to hear one thing Wiggins does well.

Wiggins also being being bad does not in any way make Russell good. My argument is not pro-Wiggins. I have been crystal clear that Minnesota needed to pay the price to get off of him. But trading one albatross for another while giving up a valuable asset isn't a step forward in any way.

It is not guaranteed to be a lottery pick. The West is not great after LAC, LAL, DEN, UTA and HOU. All the teams after have questions regarding their roster [and frankly it is too far out to predict outcomes given the roster changes happening in the off-season].

Yes we will, but it doesn't make the statement "A surefire lottery pick" any more accurate.

Jesus man. Look, you forgot to even mention the Warriors next year lol. They lost RoCo, plus DLo and Towns don’t play defense. They have no talent around those two and no real coaching. They’ll be lotto... if you know ball, you should know this man.

They likely will be lotto. I think we just have different thoughts about basketball and I for one don't talk in absolutes because absolutes don't happen...

You’re really breaking my balls over this? It’s semantics. Obviously I can’t predict the future, and anything can happen... I shouldn’t have to spell out what you already agree with... “they’ll likely be lotto”... happy now?

I agree.
Look at how much roster turnover they had this trade deadline. I for one think they will be aggressive with JJ (expiring) + 2020 FRP (obviously the closer to #1 the better). Add in Culver and FFRPs and Swaps -- Wolves have a trade package that should get about anyone (no I am not talking Booker but he could be in play). They have a whole offseason and next trade deadline before their 2021 FRP is slotted.

You shouldn't at all, Dlo sucks, Wiggins is better but has bad habits from having to go full Minneota in his career, plus the Warriors get 2 picks.
Finding it funny that people think Minny did well here.

I just need an option that says Minny lost. Because they so absolutely did.
....Andrew Wiggins was **** awful for us, this is an obvious upgrade. The only mistake was trading Covington in an unrelated deal.
Oh dude you aint seen nothing yet. Russell sucks, you wait and see. You're going to wish you had still had Wiggins, let alone the picks as well.

What measures does Wiggins look better than Russell at?
Russell actually has attributes where he is elite [Wiggins does not outside of jumping ability]. I like Wiggins and hope him the best but we are looking at two different tier players here.

I'm confused. I swore you were passing on deals that offered decent stuff for this player that sucks for the past month. When did he start sucking?

Russell is fools gold. Outside of 3 point scoring binges, he's is at league worst level for defense and is as bad an athlete as there is in the NBA. He has literally no lateral quickness, there have been games where I have had to walk away from because I have never seen a worse defensive player in the NBA. Even if he ups his effort level, he's the slowest player I've ever watched, it's like he has steel shoes on. He's also really weak and just gets pushed around by physical guys.
Wiggins is an elite rim runner and finisher. He gets into the lane at will and next to the shooting gravity of Steph and Klay, adding in Draymonds leadership and playmaking, and the best of Wiggins is right in front of him now. Andrew has picked up some bad tendancies playing for a poorly run organization, that will need to be slapped out of him absolutely, however add in the picks the Warriors received, and the Warriors won this trade.
Save this down if you want, but the Wolves are going to be brutal to watch after their trade season.

He's always sucked, I've never shyed away from saying that. I tried hard to like his game, but it's brutal and the opposite of what the Warriors are and do. I've been big on adding our unprotected 2020 1st(and other assets) to him in a trade to get a much better player. Turns out, this is where the market actually was which I get, because GM's around the league know what Dlo is.
I cringe at what the return would have been if KAT was happy and not pining for his little buddy.
