Pels/Blazers trade: your take?

We Can Nance If We Want To: Pelicans win. They wanted to get Zion to the playoffs, and this is a big boost to the roster.

Total Eclipse of the Hart: Blazers win. This team desperately needed to be re-shaped and they have a ton of flexibility now.

McColl Me, Maybe?: Both teams win. Pelicans get their talent upgrade, Blazers keep clearing the decks and adding youth.

Lose-Louz: Both teams lose. This won't be the impact New Orleans needs, and "two in the bush" cap plans often have a way of blowing up.

Wouldnt surprise me if they didnt...
Estimated time of return is earliest aftet six weeks :noway:
That means he will be availible last 6-7 games at best...

Yep wouldn't surprise me as well... i saw a tweet saying they didn't even need medicals for the trade to push through.

I don't think the Pels are worried about Nance Jr's surgery, if anything it was given the green light to go ahead the second he was a member of the Pels.

McCollum is likely viewed as the piece needed to make the playoffs, and the greater vision is to have a 100% healthy roster hit the ground running next year and make noise and get Zion to sign the extension.

For those that have not seen the pick goes the following:
NOP 22 first if 5 - 14
If not it jumps to the Milwaukee ‘25 1st. NOP owns that first unprotected but Portland only gets it 1-4 protected so if it is in the top 4 Portland would be out of luck.

Kinda amazing high variance here in potential outcomes, with a possible drop down from a NOP pick at like 12 this year to a distant pick of a team with Giannis depending upon a play in tourney?

Yes, if the NO pick doesnt convey to Portland this off-season, then Blazer fans will be hoping Giannis leaves the Bucks before the 25' draft.

If it doesn't convey this year, I would bet they trade it well before 2025.
