Better to just let Lowry walk.
Precious is nice, but just don't see this deal being worth it for Toronto unless there's picks involved.

It's not that Lowry is worth draft picks. I just don't see Toronto helping out Miami by taking back Dragic.
If the positions were reversed, how would Miami feel about taking back Hood and Baynes?

Well, Precious is worth more than Hood or Baynes (if you don't want him, I'm sure you can cash him out somewhere), and the Raps are also trying to do right by Lowry.

I don't think it's that bad. All Lowry has to say is "my first choice is Miami...but my second is New York" and there goes Toronto's leverage in a puff of smoke. So in such an instance it's not about what they can squeeze out of the Heat: the Raps can either take the Miami package or nothing. So Miami only has to beat nothing.

That's an odd deal, maybe they are going after Wright instead for themselves?

Seems like wasting their TPE?

I'm sure these are the *if traded* odds, but here are the odds per one Vegas site:

He was too fast … he didn’t even type some details correctly the previous time .

This feels like a game show whereby both wanted to be the first to press the bell and get to answer

MN could have interest in Precious.

They will have a TPE he can be absorbed into for picks or Naz Reid to match up roughly.

Sure, but then its not a S&T for each other. :D

Why not?

Since both are restricted, it enables the teams to make sure they each get exactly one of the two.

There remains an expectation that despite Toronto's interest, Jarrett Allen will re-sign with Cleveland. The center has been working with Cavaliers officials at the team facility for much of the offseason. At this point, a Collin Sexton trade also appears unlikely.

Fair enough. So let me complain about some other aspects of this:

I hate Graham for the Pels as their starting PG.
I hate the idea of turning my franchise over to the Ball family.

I think it's one of those don't ask, don't tell. The Bucks bungled it when it got leaked that the deal was agreed to 3 days prior to FA tampering period beginning.

Right, I'm pretty much there too. But they failed on the don't tell part here is this is as done as it sounds.
Apparently it's that both teams announced the trade before it was allowed because Bogdanovic was a free agent and they announced it before he was allowed to sign.

In this case, I would think contacting Toronto and saying, "Hypothetically, if Lowry were to choose us, what would you accept in a sign and trade for him?" wouldn't be out of line.

What would be out of line is if Miami and Toronto were to announce the deal before Lowry were allowed to officially agree to it.

You're right. It's tampering, but it's kind of legal tampering, oddly...

Lonzo Ball is a really good fit for them, no? Big guard who will shoot threes off the catch, move the ball, and help them play up tempo. Has Lavar been that involved in the last year or two? Now that his sons are more established in the league, he seems to have mellowed out a little.

Sean Marks spoke this morning and talked about his intentions to bring back Blake Griffin and to look to add more center depth. And that Tsai is committed to spending money to win.
