Had to laugh. The motor sports beat writer for the IndyStar dragged Shams for his “sources” tweet.

I feel like a 3-team trade between Portland-Philly-Brooklyn solves everything:
Portland in - Ben Simmons
Philly in - Kyrie Irving
Brooklyn in - CJ McCollum
I know you may they just cut Portland out - but I'm not sure how well Simmons fits in Brooklyn and feel McCollum would be a much better fit alongside Harden and Durant.

Reminds me of that gem where Shams (maybe Woj but I think Shams) did a "sources" tweet and the player responded and said something like "it was me, I was the source, I just posted about it"
Kinda gives away the game on how they are reporting. Even public information and press releases get a lazy "sources" tag.

Oh, disagree on the Brooklyn part. I think Simmons and his ultra low usage, superior defense, positional flexibility, and playmaking make much more sense with Harden and Durant than another guy who needs a ton of shots, the ball in his hands, to be covered defensively, and is tied to a specific position in CJ.

Interested to see what LeVert fetches, given the wide range of perceived value on here. I'm on the "he's not very good and on a negative deal" side of the fence but I suppose we will see

I'm on the he's not very good, but that a team will give positive value for him(and likely regret it).
And I wish Dallas had assets for Turner, but alas.

Portland has $24 million worth of expiring contracts
Honestly curious if Pacers and Blazers work together on a 3 team deal.

Just to post these snips:
And
So seems no Warren, and not a long term thing.
Sources tell The Athletic that Warren has expressed to management that he’d like to remain in Indianapolis.
And
The Pacers don’t want to embark on a long-term “process” or a tank-athon because it’s fiscally hurtful and the Indianapolis market won’t stay engaged — even if fans understand the necessity of starting over. But after several years in NBA purgatory, management has decided it’s time to shake things up. The Pacers haven’t advanced beyond the first round of the playoffs since 2013-14. They’re also on their third coach in three years — Nate McMillan, Nate Bjorkgren and now Carlisle.
So seems no Warren, and not a long term thing.

I would do some unspeakable things to add Turner to our existing roster without having to give up a member of our top 4
investigate Adam Silver

Oh, I don’t think he’ll return too terribly much, if anything. The key to a trade for him is that he’s not terribly expensive, and he’s only signed for one more year after this. I think a team might convince themselves to take a chance on him at an affordable price. I’d bet he gets moved for a similar type vet at a different position.

I think the Blazers are just missing those other value pieces to make something realistically work.
As for Toronto, Dragic is a FINE contract filler. What else are you offering of value to make a deal work?

Ditto this sentiment for Golden State.
Curry/Klay/Wiggins/Green/Turner with an actual bench would be a juggernaut

I don't really see a trade other than Dragic + Malachi Flynn + two 1st Round Picks. There's probably another team out there that beats that for Turner or Sabonis, but that's about as good as it gets from Toronto, I think.
Edit - for LeVert, I think Dragic and Toronto's 2022 1st Round Pick would add a scoring punch to the Raptors' bench.

Yeah this is about where I'm at with him. Teams talked themselves into his potential before but that's pretty much not a thing with him at this point.Scoot McGroot wrote:K_chile22 wrote:Interested to see what LeVert fetches, given the wide range of perceived value on here. The fact that he's looked like Pacers Era Tyreke Evans (who was doing hard drugs at the time) has not helped his value at all though.

I do not expect him to return a first round pick and if he does that would be a mistake to meTroubadour wrote:Scoot McGroot wrote:b33nine wrote:

What about Dragic and Malachi Flynn for Caris LeVert?

I would be shocked if he did but the other piece coming back is a big negative overall. Dragic is expiring but not at all worth that contract.K_chile22 wrote:I do not expect him to return a first round pick and if he does that would be a mistake to meTroubadour wrote:Scoot McGroot wrote:

Not sure why Toronto would want LeVert either way though.

Bench scoring would be the rationale to me. I also am not convinced this dip in play is permanent for LeVert considering he's coming back from cancer.
