2017 Golden State Warriors First Round Draft Pick

I just figured Monroe offers a different skill set than if offered by Favors, Lyles or Gobert. Honestly, it's tough finding a team that would want or need Monroe, so I'm just looking for a random team.

And Boris Diaw. And Tibor Pleiss and Jeff Withey as legit 4th and 5th bigs, who are really only being asked to be 5th and 6th bigs. Utah is ok in the big department.

Well, I won't be surprised if Tibor is cut. He's not showing much NBA ability. But, Withey is pretty decent as a 4th or 5th big, and Diaw can be good or bad depending on his motivation.

If the market is this dry for Greg Monroe -- meaning, no one wants to give up any assets of significance for that player on that contract -- then why would Monroe opt out?

The Bucks need to move on. Trade him for nothing, really. They got him for nothing except money, so trading him away for nothing except available future cap seems reasonable. There has to be a team out there that can use a non-rim-protecting 15/10 guy for free, essentially signing him to a 2/34 deal with a PO on the second season.

I don't think Monroe would have any problem getting that money, but my guess is that teams are leveraging the hell out of Milwaukee right now. I'd say there's even money that they just buy him out at this point. They've clearly moved on. If a team like the Spurs really does want him, this is the capacity in which they probably have interest. I imagine GS is in the same boat.

I can't see Monroe taking a buyout this year because obviously the Bucks would insist he decline his PO first. They aren't going to pay him for something they hope he opts out of. And it makes no sense for him to opt out of that much gtd money next year to go sign for cheap with GSW or SAS where his minutes/role will be minimized.

Carroll +Patterson +2017 1St+Bebe for Griffin

The source is likely garbage, but this does qualify as a random rumor thread. How serious is Griffin's then quad injury?

I loved the deal for the Raptors at first until I learned he isn't participating in the Olympics because of thr injury and he has a PO for 2017,which makes him a likely 1 year rental. Perhaps even a rental that sits on the bench as an injured reserve.

Philly gets: Danny Green, Jabari Parker

Sacramento gets: Patty Mills, Robert Covington 2019 first round draft pick from Sacramento
Philly returns the pick

San Antonio gets: Greg Monroe, Hollis Thompson

Milwaukee gets: Rudy Gay, Jahil Okefor

Philly gets there first two scoring options realisticially

Sacramento addresses two big needs backp point guard and shooter, and they regain there pick

San Antonio gets the player they covet and and decent corner shooter off the bench

Milwaukee gains two excellent player and get tremendous value here

Probably, that was my initial reaction also. I wonder if he is actually on the block.

Again, I understand that there's the rumor out there. But they don't want to do this type of trade.

What? We trade the most valuable player in the deal and come away with Rudy Gay and a younger version of Monroe?

Quick glance? Philly gets entirely too much value by asking San Antonio to give up key pieces for bad fits (and overpaying greatly in doing so), as well as Milwaukee. In a vacuum, I take Jabari Parker over Jahlil Okafor pretty easily right now, in terms of young guy value. Overall, I take Parker/Monroe over Gay/Okafor pretty easily. I'd rather have my old guy be the "NBA dinosaur" in terms of fits, rather than investing much more heavily in my young guy being the "NBA dinosaur" in terms of fit.
