Feels like Rubio has to be in their outgoing to make the money work--but 3rd team right?
Garland would figure to be the main value piece over Sexton, right?
Then Osman? Who is negative.
So Rubio and Osman to a 3rd team for a win now piece?
Cleveland also adds draft compensation?
There was a report earlier in the week that Simmons is okay with Cleveland as a destination because of his relationship with Garland and him being clutch, I think it’s sexton, love, picks to be honest. Like everyone is acting like love makes no sense behind Embiid. Cut Drummond immediately because there’s no role for him and let love get 20-25 mpg when Embiid plays and 32-36 when he rests?
Having Love on the books as a 29m backup center in another year when Sexton comes due for a raise would be harsh to deal with; and probably a 50m+ tax bill in and of itself.
Rubio makes a lot more sense than Love; both financially and positionally.
Simmons (33m)
for
Rubio 18m (can be aggregated in 3 days), Sexton 6m, with Osman (8m + 7m next year) going elsewhere would have both Philly and Cleveland just under the tax. Obviously there is jostling for picks/value and needs to be motivation for someone to take Cedi.
So, something like:
Phi out: Simmons, Phi 22 1st
Phi in: Rubio, Sexton, Cle '22 1st; Cle 24 1st
Cle out: Rubio, Sexton, Cedi Cle '22 1st; Cle 24 1st
Cle in: Simmons
OKC out Cap space
OKC in: Cedi and worst of Phi/Cle '22 1st.
With everyone getting to go nuts over what protections and if in fact Ben Simmons is the worst player in the league.
Edit: I think this is the first Simmons trade I have posted in these threads?}
