Re: Free Agency, Rumors, Thoughts in General 2.0
Last 2 days left and some stubborn and mostly fully inaccurate but arbitrarily precise predictions:
Gordon: Minnesota
Fournier: Atlanta
Lowry: Miami?/Toronto (Okay I suck at this one)
Bagley: Stays Sac
Powell: Stays Tor
Oladipo: Miami?/Dallas *** If Lowry Miami, then Oladipo to Dallas. If Lowry stays, Oladipo to Miami ***
Ball: Stays
Smart: Stays
TT: Traded I guess, no idea where -- Edit: What about to Houston for Olynyk in an Oladipo deal.
Oubre: Traded ... Knicks.
Danny Green: Stays
Collins: Stays
Turner: Stays
Who else should I include?
And yes, I'm flipping Lowry to more likely stays just so olynyk can go back to Boston despite Boston fans reactions to that.

I think it's unlikely simply because there are only so many contenders who aren't already in future pick hell and the ones that can easily trade a 1st probably have their sights set on bigger targets.
Makes sense.
I was thinking there are still a couple contenders who own most or all of their own picks, who don't have a lot of financial wiggle room and could use a versatile defender. And there aren't enough Aaron Gordon's or Harry Barnes to go around. So maybe? But yeah he's definitely not an exciting addition.
Just trying to see what options Dallas might have. And not a lot is an answer I already knew.

Re: Free Agency, Rumors, Thoughts in General 2.0
Perhaps not worth its own thread, but for Fournier I like the Knicks.
They don't have their own 2nd this year, but they have some incoming in future, and with extra firsts in hand they can afford to shell out 2nds for a good fit. Send back a minor contract (Payton or Bullock or Rivers) and the rest is capspace. Knicks get a good offensive player on an expiring contract; in the offseason they can bring him back or let him go as they prefer.
Magic get some 2nds and if they want to re-sell the resulting TPE they could get more.

Austin Rivers has to be a lock to be traded, right?
Should I get my Philly jersey of him now, or wait a week? Can someone else take him?

Re: Free Agency, Rumors, Thoughts in General 2.0
Shamelessly copying Hartford, but with even worse predictive powers:
Lowry -- Miami which leads to
LMA -- Miami (via buyout)
Dipo -- Denver
Fournier -- Memphis
Harry Barnes -- Sacramento
Gordon -- Atlanta because of
Collins -- Phoenix
Bagley -- OKC because I suggested it first mainly
Norm Powell -- Toronto
Oubre -- Knicks easiest verison of GSW salary dumping him which they absolutely suck if they don't do
Turner -- stays
Brogdon - stays
Sabonis -- stays
Doug -- Dallas
Bjelica -- Philly
Lonzo -- Clippers
Redick -- Brooklyn (buy out)
Drummond -- Lakers (buy out)
Kenrich Williams -- Denver
edit:
George Hill -- Lakers
Harrell -- Hornets
Ross -- Lakers

I posted about 20 pages ago Snell + for Fournier.
The plus being either a bunch of 2nds or the OKC pick that becomes 2nds most likely.
That is still my favorite Fournier deal.
I like it. Send one or two seconds. Atl still has expiring contract for cap protection and gets a better overall player. Orlando and Atlanta do not have a good trade history. Maybe they can start one.
You aren't talking me down:HartfordWhalers wrote:3 2nds and Snell for Fournier?
Could be done with the OKC pick, but I expect there will be a freak out over the potential of it to be a 1st. Still might be better.

I think three is a bit rich. I'm pretty sure unless one of Collins, Bogdan, or Gallinari is moved they won't be signing him in free agency.

I'd take a Melli/Bjelica/Lyles if Dallas doesn't want to go big.
* Edit: Remove Melli, I though he was an elite spacer just because of the game-tying 3 he hit on us last season.

Bjelica yes. Other 2 don't offer anything.

No rumors from other teams calling OKC about Williams (WOJ) but he could help so many teams and Presti likes to work in silence so...hope we can trade him.

Re: Free Agency, Rumors, Thoughts in General 2.0
Woj reporting that Knicks and Heat think Houston's asking price for Dipo is too much but speculates a team without cap space options will trade for him.
Also seeing reports that Heat are comfortable with 2/$50M for Lowry making a deal more likely.

I wouldn’t assume so. I mean, I’d be shocked if Toronto didn’t have some complaints while in a 9 game losing streak, after losing to a team that was on a 20 or something game losing streak, all while playing 1300 miles from home in a different city.

If Miami is making other trades now and is going to operate as an over the cap team next year, why not buy Dinwiddie's bird rights and see if you can resign him.

It's really good for Brooklyn so there is that
But yeah, why would the win-now Heat trade three guys who can at least play for one who can't?

But sounds like their main deal is Lowry. If this is their fallback to Lowry not coming through I'm pretty underwhelmed. Miami can do this well or better in free agency.
But also what do the Nets want with Nunn? or that filler junk?
I really don't get it.
