At the moment, they don't seem interested in tanking and they need at least one high end talent (#1 or #2 type) to be a contender.

So I have them stuck in the middle until something changes.

I want this to happen. What a hilariously bad defense that would be.

That would be fun.

LaVine, DD and Caruso would be lots of excitement vertically, Vuc can stretch the floor to allow DD his space

Steiny-Mo also mentioning Spurs may still have some interest in Markkanen.

I don’t even see what Dallas could offer Chicago that would interest them honestly. Is it just Powell and a pick? But then what pick, that Dallas owns, is Lauri worth?

With Lonzo/Zach/Caruso/White - I don’t see Green or Brunson being selling points.

Lauri is a big surprise to me though. I expected SAS to pay him as well. Confused by Chicago though, they might see him as a long term piece and get to keep him on a good contract now? He’s an awful fit with Vooch - but he does seem to fit with White/Lonzo/Williams. That’s not a great young core but is a backup option if the team blows it up? Obviously not their plan or a good plan.

I think its Powell/Burke/future 1st to OKC then some tiny something to Chicago plus they get a TPE or slightly bigger matching outgoing salary for their Derozan deal?

But yeah my S&T plans for Dallas typically involve dumping the Powell/Burke combo on OKC. :D

But while I have you, any interest in using the Richardson TPE to slightly outbid the MLE on any of the remaining free agents? Technically Dallas is at 15 already if Boban is real, but obviously they have some end of roster guys who could make way.

A double sign and trade seems a lot better for all parties than Dallas throwing their junk at one of the other teams..

Rumors/Whispers from Chicago are this:

1. Zero percent chance Lauri stays in Chicago.
2. The Bulls have an offer for Lauri in a sign and trade.
3. The Bulls like the idea of a deal Lauri for Derozen, but the Spurs are hoping to get John Collins instead, so everyone is in a waiting period.

This is interesting stuff. And certainly provides an explanation as to why Collins to Atlanta isn't done. He's probably trying to leverage the Spurs deal into a 5th year with the Hawks.

In all honesty this has ZERO credibility. The inclusion of McDaniels exposes the "rumor" as lacking awareness.

The Minnesota interest has come from a few sources. I agree, the pieces seems like a bit of guesswork. And I’m sure Chicago fans want it to be Culver, a 1st, and McDnaiels, and Minnesota fans want it to be Prince and Okogie.

Lauri seems such an awful fit with KAT. Almost regardless of cost, just seems not worth it for Minnesota.

Lauri and Poeltl seem a long better together.

Dallas interest is just low standards. We don’t care about fit with KP.

That may actually help Dallas get past the Clipps. DDR is a name and a name alone, he's a negative player on the court IMO

Would guess another sign and trade? Kennard/Bev/something maybe? I mean it doesn't make sense for the Spurs fit wise but I don't really know what they're doing right now either.

He is definitely not a negative especially not if they get him for the taxpayer.

This reads like its a discount to LA. But that's a huge discount.

Going home and being the piece filling in for Kawhi while he is out seems ideal for him. I wonder if a S+T for Zubac could make sense, he seems like a player Pop would like.
