Minny gets - Simmons, EGordon, Doumboya (if wanted)
Hou gets - expirings Beverly, Okogie, Prince, picks [gets- right to swap lowest of 2023 MIL/BKN/HOU for 2023 Minn 1st (top 4 protected), 2024 MINN 1st, top 5 protected for years. Minn 2nds in 2022, 2023, 2025, 2027, PHI 2nds in 2023 and 2024. Sends- BKN 2022 1st (lower of HOU/BKN/MIA top 12 protected or becomes BKN 1st in 2024)]
PHI gets - Beasley, Wood, Augustin (or House), picks [gets 2022 MINN 1st, BKN 2022 1st (which is worst of MIA/BKN/Hou)]

PHI - gets 2 more firsts next year and has its own - so Morey will have three of them to make deals. Beasley and Wood are nice strong additions. Augustin or House would be a veteran backup expiring.
HOU - Losing Wall hurts but dumps Gordon, adds a lot of 2nds, turns a probably low first in 2022 for a 2024 minny 1st.
Minny gets its man. DaR/Gordon/Edwards/Simmons/Towns would be fun to watch.

As a few general reminders, make sure you are intending to post reasonable posts and no intentionally awful counters. Thanks so much.

I try my best to ignore these threads, and I think I have done really well so far. Because the mod salary of 0 dollars doesn't make looking at this thread worth it more often than not it is always a train wreck between How many top prospects can we get and you will take my 8th best player.

But as the reports pile up faster than the pages in the thread let me try to be clear here:

1) Be reasonable.
2) Be polite
3) Be reasonable
4) If you cannot be reasonable, go for a delightful hike and post pictures on social media of your triumphs?
5) Expect mods to push back at the posts that seem unreasonable. If you post that Simmons = Love, expect a few tongue in cheeks or less polite replies. As mods we like to ensure there is realistic conversation. Sometimes people bristle at this notion of a mod consensus (claimed in the last thread despite I think one active trade board mod posting, lol). More often people complain that yahoos get to post "Your best player (and picks from you?) for trash because it makes me happy. As with any trade thread, expect pushback if you start posting that a player generally viewed as good is actually negative value and you will accept being paid to take them (or similar).

At this point I'm going to relax and stop ignoring closing the reports and just giving warnings. If you think someone deserves one; make my life easy and report it. If you backseat moderate, expect someone to make my life easy and report you for a warning.

Thanks all. I will copy this to the OP so hopefully no one misses it.

By any chance could you do a poll of where we think he ends up on this thread. I'm curious where the consensus is on the board right now.

He's clear what he meant. You can disagree if that's enough for Simmons, but let's not play dumb please.

I'm not participating in this kind of thing. Brogdan is playing Ben is a head case holdout.

Will you feel the same if(when) Simmons is dealt to Indy for Brogdan/Lavert/#1(s)???

Or will you shift your narrative at that point?

I'm not calling you out per se, but I've seen it happen with others here who've relentlessly bashed a player UNTIL their team traded for him. Then the player instantly appeared to gain about 40% in value just by changing his zip code.

I don't trust Simmons at this point. If he'll do this to the 6ers he'll do it to the Pacers in a year or two. I said before I won't hate on the guy if he comes to the Pacers but I think he's over paid and over rated. I'll give hi a chance, Maybe coach Rick can get more out of him, who knows? I think Brogdan LeVert and a #1 is an over pay for a guy who won't report and says he's never playing for his team again. It's like having a Cadillac with a blown motor, sure it's a $30,000 car but you're gonna have to get that motor fixed.

I don't trust Simmons because the Pacers have been through this multiple times with guys not being content to play in a small market. Ron Artest, PG, Oladipo we've seen this movie before.

Any mod can add a poll! I'm happy to do it, but be warned that in another 14 pages (which at the thread's current rate is only 3 days) this thread will be locked and a new one started, per RealGM rules. At the point the old thread will quickly drop off the page and the poll will go with it.

Crazy scenario, what if Wolves jumped in as 3rd team with Pacers, not for Simmons but for Turner (or Sabonis)?

Wolves have the need bad for a PF. Yes, Simmons is KAT and Russel’s buddy, but they don’t have the PG 76ers need in trade. Enter Pacers.

To 76ers: Beasley + Brogdon + Bolmaro

To Pacers: Simmons + 76er Filler + 2x 1sts from Wolves

To Wolves: Turner or Sabonis + 76er Filler

76ers get Brogdon PG play and Beasley’s shooting.

Pacers get Simmons to run point.

Wolves pair Turner or Sabonis with Towns.

I don't think the Pacers will trade Sabonis or Turner with Brogdon for Simmons and filler. Maybe two very lightly protected firsts might help but it's not the Indiana does things. Now if Turner can't play with Sabonis what makes you think he can play with Towns? And the other way Sabonis and Towns is supposed to work?

Ben, tobias and shake for Sabonis, Lavert and Brogdan.

Philly gets upgrade in playmaking and wing play. Also adds a all-star caliber PF. All-star in return.

Love the idea of getting Charlotte involved, just not sure where else they can add value?

Charlotte out: Hayward, ????

Philly out: Maxey, Simmons
Philly in: Levert, Brogdon, Picks for Charlotte?

Indiana out: Sabonis, Levert, Lamb, Brogdan
Indiana In: Simmons, Hayward, Maxey

No way would I trade Sabonis for Hayward. Sabonis is 6 years younger and Hayward is overpaid and injury prone. I wouldn't take him even with 2 #1 picks for Sabonis.

This is hideous for the Pacers. They gut their team of guys on fair contracts (and the underpaid Sabonis) to take on the slightly overpaid (factoring his terrible attitude) Simmons and the massively overpaid Harris?

You have to consider the Pacers' situation and motivation. They have a team of good, high-level role players/fringe all-stars on team-friendly contracts. What they lack is a true star, and they have almost no chance to get one through FA or the draft.

Therefore, they're motivated to gamble on Simmons finally fulfilling his potential, even though it seems increasingly unlikely. This would give them the star they miss

But, if they do a trade like this, then (a) they're no longer just one star away, because they've gutted their team and (b) even if Simmons does stay playing like a star, the extra value he provides beyond his max contract is wiped out by the horrible Harris contract

IF Brogdan and Lavert are truly being offered in a package....I think thats the best offer Philly is going to get and would be a fool not to accept. Especially given the circumstances around Ben Simmons and his value being at an all-time low.

So I guess what I'm saying is, I think that's an overpayment from Indy's end.

I do think Brogdon would be a great fit in Philly

Assumptions... 1) Lillard isn't going anywhere. 2) Simmons doesn't want to go to Washington. Despite him not having said so, I'm having trouble seeing him stay there. 3) Minny is the preferred destination for Simmons.

Who says no?

Philly - get lots of pieces to use or trade for Beal. Brunson is a Philly guy.
In: Satoransky, Brunson, Beasley, T Prince, 1x Dallas FRP, 2x Minny FRPs... or Beal, Brunson.
Out: Simmons, Springer, Reed

Minnesota - get Simmons.
In: Simmons, Springer
Out: Beasley, McDaniels, T Prince, 2 unprotected or lightly protected (Top 5?) FRPs

Pelicans - get the floor-spacing Center they need alongside Zion.
In: Porzingis, Reed
Out: Jonas, Satoransky, Tre Murphy

Dallas - get roster consolidation and improved defense.
In: Jonas, McDaniels, Tre Murphy, Dragic, Sims
Out: Porzingis, Powell, Green, Terry, Moses, 1 unprotected FRP, 1 SRP

If Beal is open to leaving Washington...

Wizards - gets 3 or more FRPs while providing a reasonable viewing product to their fans.
In: Beasley, Sato, Prince, 1x Dallas FRP, 2x Minny FRP... perhaps, a 76ers FRP if needed
Out: Beal

Philly: Maxey/Brunson, Beal/Curry/Korkmaz, Green/Thybulle, Tobias/Prince, Embiid/Drummond.
Minnesota: PatBev/Springer, D'lo/Nowell, Edwards/Okogie, Simmons/Vanderbilt, KAT/Naz.
Pelicans: Graham/Kira, NAW/Hart, Ingram/Naji, Zion/Reed, Porzingis/Hayes.
Wizards: Dinwiddie/Sato, Beasley/KCP/Kispert, Kuzma/Avdija/Bertans, Rui/Harrell/Prince, Gafford/Bryant.

Additional trades to round out Dallas' roster.

Toronto
In: Powell, Green, Terry
Out: Dragic

Knicks
In: Moses, Dallas SRP
Out: Sims

Dallas: Luka/Dragic/Burke, THJ/Bullock/Sterling, DFS/Murphy, McDaniels/Kleber/Hunt, Jonas/WCS/Sims/Boban.
+ McLaughlin, Omoruyi on 2-way deals.

Bonus: This will involve 7 teams if the 76ers can trade those pieces for Beal... easily beating Dinwiddie's 5-team trade. Hopefully, that is motivation enough for all the GMs involved to see it through.

I don't know, haven't been keeping up with trade offers or rumors. I'm just trying to get a better roster around Luka by gate-crashing the Simmons party. :P

Whatcha think about the deal though, is it fair for all? I made a coupla edits to the version you quoted.

Well that sounds a little better but the ESPN trade machine says Sabonis and Lamb for White and Murray is -11 wins for the pacers.

I guess Simmons for Beal straight up is an option. Beal probably cracks and takes the vax on a contending team. 76ers lack PGs after though.

I don't think the Nuggets can keep Gordon if they're acquiring Simmons. In fact, I think the MPJ and Gordon extensions probably mean the Nuggets are out on Simmons.
