I wouldn't have any interest in anything like this from the Cavs end, and I'm not sure how the Cavs are consolidating, or how the Mavs send out only Gafford and take back Reaves, but the Mavs are stealing all kinds of value here.

The Mavs are also sending the Lakers' 2029 pick.

Illegal for Suns. They are well over the 2nd apron and they are taking back way over 100% incoming which hardcaps them at 1st apron.

terrible deal valuewise for magic and way too good for memphis

I think Dallas sees Christie as a keeper and likely rather keep him than do the 28/Konchar part unless money savings is a priority here. But that value is likely about right.

For Memphis, I think the plan is to still get further under the cap to renegotiate JJJ, so given that we likely cannot be part of this deal. But if we decide to forgo that option then taking in either Goga or Max or both into our TPE and MLE would be a reasonable route epecially in Konchar is going out. Likely don't need the #25 here since both are neutral to slight positive contracts. Happy enough with Huff with the spot center minutes we have available, SG minutes might open up some if Kennard walks and Konchar is gone, be more willing to take in Max than Goga. Now if #25 is included then we would take both regardless, but I think there are enough teams that would take either with no compensation needed.

Boston trading every PG on their roster to land KD when Tatum might be out for the season seems like an odd direction. I do think a worse pick than 16 can bridge the value gap if there is one between White and KD. Does the money work for Boston here?

I don't think Orlando would pay both of the 1sts and eat Klay here for PP.

I have (trade is made under 2024/25, namely on draft day):
Porz 29.2 + D.White 20.0 + S.Hauser 2.0 = 51.2 M$
KD = 51.1 M$
S.Hauser can be taken out, in case

Konchar+#28/Christie part feels unnecessary for the Mavs.

But the direction is completely wrong for ORL -- they need a starting PG. They don't really need another wing, and definitely don't need a 4th/5th C in Olynyk. If Orlando uses up 2 FRPs and don't get back a starting PG, the GM should be fired.

Would this work:

Magic: Colin Sexton, John Collins, Elfrid Payton

Pels: Lauri Markkanen, Jonathan Isaac, Cole Anthony, #21, #25

Jazz: #7, CJ McCollum, Olynyk, KCP, Dejounte

Not for Utah.

I don’t like this at all for Boston. Seems a waste of White and Pritchard.
The team is a net negative on the floor and terrible when Tatum gets back so why?

Now that room and non-taxpayer MLE can be used in trades not just free agency, what do you think the going rate is going to be to eat expiring contracts via them?

Really curious what the market is going to look like for those as well as the decent sized TPE's out there. With Brooklyn being the only option in terms of traditional cap space, those are the next best options for dumping money and it seems like a lot of teams may be interested in off-loading contracts.

I think the equivalent value of a pick in the 15-20 range dumps about $15-20 Million of useless expiring salary, but maybe I'm wrong?

I mean, neither? Indy already has Siakam, so why would they acquire Zion? And why would they overpay so much with so many picks AND key players? They wouldn’t be getting better….

If anything happened, it’d have to be a Siakam for Zion package, but I’m not sure there’s an interest in doing that? Siakam has fit style wise and locker room wise. Zion maybe couod too, but that’s he unknown, while Siakam is the known.

But no, absolutely no reason to package all the picks and youths on the roster as well as the most integral pieces (Nembhard/Nesmith) just to have to play two PF’s together, or bring one off the bench?

Fair enough on Nes and Nemb, but just play Zion at SF. Might be better there anyway with interior d and def reb covered better.

Official numbers won't be announced for another month, but based on a projected cap of $154.65MM the minimum payroll should be $139.19MM.

Ah. I'm not sure if this is it, but Spotrac is showing an "incomplete roster charge" for Brooklyn of $3.82MM.

Makes sense. Brooklyn must have three open spots.
