Brogdon is coming off (yet another) injury filled year and his shooting is down this year too. I think 10th pick is more than fair. It would probably take a 3 team deal where indy get back a player ready to help them next year though

Brogdan - Hali - Duarte - TJ - Buddy
Warren - Brissett - 1st Round pick (top 5?)
Turner - Jackson - Goga

Wouldn't surprise me at all to see them keep this squad together and shoot for the playoffs next year. Could try to dump Buddy, or move TJ for more wing depth.

I don't see Indy dealing Brogdon to tank, I see them dealing Brogdon for roster balance. They've got 5 guards good enough to be in a 2-deep rotation. 2-3 center options and pretty much nothing at either forward spot. Even if they use their lotto pick on a forward they're going to need more. Probably a lotto pick, a FA (full MLE or low-level cap space) and then another guy they trade for.

If Indy values Duarte as much as their fans do, then Brogdan is the most likely guy to send out (a starter-quality guy without a starting spot). If they're lower on Duarte and don't feel he needs to start then they may keep Brodgan and trade Heild instead. Of course it also depends on what they can get for either guy.

Using Washington as an example, if Indy's options are Heild for Kuzma or Brodgan for Kuzma and a 2nd then they'd just deal Heild. If Indy's options are Heild for Kuzma or Brodgan for Avdila and inoffensive filler then they'd deal Brogdan.

It's awkward to match value, because Avdija or #10 alone isn't enough for Brogdon (I feel), but together they are a big overpay

I have expirings and 10th as just about right for Brogdon. Probably call it an over pay but wouldn’t blame Washington type deal.

KCP and waiting 30 days for 10th pick to count matches Brogdon doesn’t it?

But if the pick moves up to 7/8 I feel like Indy needs to add the Cleveland first or some other type of value.

As for Deni. I have no idea how to value him. I’m sure Washington values him more than Indy which is why I went with the unknown/unloved draft pick.

I think Washington’s would offer would first be KCP+Kispert+and lightly protected 2023 first.. in order to keep Deni and 2022 first. Just not sure how I feel about that versus the singular better asset.

We drafted Duarte over Kispert for the exact same role that either would fill. Less than no interest in playing them together, or acquiring Kispert just to compete with Buddy for that backup role, so that kind of idea is probably DOA.

[B]I think, much like we did with Sabonis, we’d be looking for a singular piece in return in terms of the value[b], instead of a couple of lesser pieces like Kispert and a protected future pick.

Yea agreed, I think that's the preference

There aren't many players around who fits that description though, especially if they are primarily looking for a 3

I'd be intrigued by a...

Davion Mitchell

for

Malcolm Brogdon

...type of deal. I think Brogdon would be a solid fit at SG next to Fox with his shooting, defense, & secondary playmaking (and familiarity with Sabonis), but if IND isn't interested in Mitchell and prefers our pick, Kings would likely have to hang up. Wouldn't make sense to add Brogdon to a Fox, Mitchell, & DiVincenzo guard rotation.

Honestly, a lot of Kings fans were looking forward to a Mitchell-Haliburton backcourt (assuming Fox was traded) as they appear to complement each other's games very well.

Yeah, I don’t know. I thought this past deadline we’d see a Turner for Davion/filler swap instead of the Sabonis/Hali swap.

Ideally, I think Indy sees Duarte better as a 2 rather than a 3, so that would push Davion to the bench long term, which isn’t ideal. But if they see Duarte as a 3 long term, something could be possible. But they also might see the pick as more valuable to try and trade up for a franchise player. I just don’t know.

If am the knicks I would offer Burks' expiring, two of Obi/Cam/IQ and 2023 second from Detroit.

Indy doesn’t project to have the roster spots to do a 1 for 3 like that this summer, though it’s not insulting or anything. Obviously, it would depend on how the Indy front office viewed Obi/IQ. Though, they’d probably view the 10 pick as more interesting.

Like, any way you’d do Fournier/10/2023 Detroit 2nd for Brogdon? For Indy, we’d probably look to pack some combo of the Cleveland 1st, Houston 2nd, and future Detroit 2nd to move either of Buddy or Fournier for a better fit on the wing.

tbh that is pretty damn close. if i knew that thibs would be the coach for sure, I would do it. Cause I can't watch the 10th pick sitting on the bench while Burks and Kemba brick everything. I would leave out the detroit second tho.

Sure. I think that’s possible. I think Indy would want expirings/team options instead of taking on the multi year of Fournier if that Detroit 2nd is included. I think that future year of Fournier would require another something.

So, probably either of:
Fournier/10/Detroit 2nd
Or
2 of Kemba/Noel/Burks and 10 for Brogdon.

Ideally, in that second case, Kemba/Burks would be spun off for a single roster spot.
