The extra 2nd is good but are more protections on that pick actually helpful to Detroit? That thing is never going to convey and thus tie up every pick the next decade (though that may be a good thing that saves them from themselves)

The way today has gone (barring these signings are only partially guaranteed and Blake is going to Denver), I think anything that saves Detroit from certain urges is a positive thing

They say on ST that NOP has been negotiating with Poeltl's camp. Could see that being wrapped up into this deal, especially if they're talking about a deal bigger than the MLE.

I think the Pacers got lucky. That was the max they could give him without using the MLE. Otherwise he may have asked for more given this whacky market.
