I mean I guess he makes more this way than as an assistant? Still wild to me.
Damn, he's gonna make $130,000 per second on the court this season

the plan is to get as good as quickly as possible....I fully believe we could have been a borderline playoff team last year by adding young veterans....using or draft picks and cap space.....can I specifically tell you who? no.

But man that's 2 dead roster spots between he and Dipo.

that's nothing, the Hornets burned 4 roster spots between Carey, Richards, Riller, and Darling last season and didn't even use the final roster spot until acquiring Wanamaker at the deadline... and that's not even counting Bismack and both Martins who often times played like they were wearing the other teams' jersey
ok maybe we're not the best example

Oh lots of teams have a bunch of bad players. I think Boston is really the worst example of a good team who wasted more than 1/3 of their roster on young guys who couldn't play because Ainge refused to admit his draft mistakes. But almost every team carries some dead weight.
But Miami thinks they are a contender and as Scoot points out they have some older guys they'd like not to wear out surviving a regular season. I know they believe in their player development and rightfully so but they are going to need all of Strus and Yurtseven and Vincent and Okpala to give them meaningful minutes and I think that's pretty optimistic.

And their moves leave them unable to fill the 15th spot until late in the season if they wish to avoid the tax. If they’re going to try and rest Tucker and Lowry at all here and there, they’re going to need productive guys on their 2 way deals.

Zach Collins agreed to a three-year, $22 million deal with the San Antonio Spurs when free agency opened, but less than half of the contract is guaranteed.
Collins will receive a full guarantee of $7 million in Year 1 with the contract increasing to $7.35 million in Year 2 with a 50 percent guarantee.
Collins has no money guaranteed for Year 3 in 23-24 when he's scheduled to earn $7.7 million.
In total, Collins will have $10.675 million guaranteed by San Antonio.
