Rumored pick protection, Rockets get pick next yr if between 4 and 14. If not, then if 3 to 14 next two yrs; 2 to 14 two yrs after that.

If the Raptors make the playoffs or get the top pick for the next 5 yeas, the Rockets don't get the pick.R

Crazy, top and bottom protection? I want to see it lusted officially, but I don't put it past Morey!

(Added the poll, will tack onto the list of deals.)

Colangelo won this deal. I think if he walked away with just Bayless and or Calderon as our starters next year he's on a short leash and if we missed the playoff's....again I think he would be fired. This is a great deal for Toronto Lowry is a bulldog defender who fans are going to love, the guy plays with heart and has a good all around game.

Rockets should have seen if they could have got Bayless here I am thinking cause the rest of the names out there are not that great. Unless they are seriously banking on Lin and hope he could bring some of his magic to their team. Reports are stating that New York is persuing Felton as well to go with Nash if Lin signs else where.

I like the deal for Toronto. Of course this is as of July 2012. Come June 2013, when were handing over the 5th pick of a draft and Lowry is miserable and wanting out of Toronto, I'll start drinking heavily again; pissed off that BC was unable to predict the future.

That would be great but this is Toronto we're talking about. We dont have that kind of luck.

Yeah, I put it a win for Toronto, and not for both.

I think its a massive fall from 12 + Lowry for 5 to this. And I like 12 in this past draft a lot.. Sac could have had Lowry + Henson instead of T-Rob. Not blaming a lack of deal elsewhere on Houston, but this just feels like a bad consolation deal.

For Toronto, my downer caveat would be I'm not sure they aren't capping their franchise out as a 4 or 5th seed in the East (3rd if wildly optimistic??), but they were clearly going for better now and the value is good.

Wow. It is 0-9-0-0 in voting, with everyone saying Toronto won. Granted, that is early, but I think this is the clearest winner of a deal so far.

I love this deal for Toronto

They got the 8th pick this season with Bargs injured most of the season. Now they're adding Lowry, Ross, Fields and Valanciunas. I don't see how they can get worse.

I really don't know what Morey is trying to do. If the idea is to rebuild, why make such big offers for Jeremy Lin, Asik and try a S&T for Gordon ? That doesn't make any sense.
Shaq on Duncan:SA won because of TD, a guy I could never break.I could talk trash to Ewing, get in D-Rob's face, get a rise out of Mourning, but when I went at Tim he’d look at me like he was bored and say:“Hey,Shaq, watch this shot right off the glass.”

Rockets are gonna have either Felton or Calderon as their starting pg. Lin stays in NY... Sessions goes to Dallas and that leaves Felton and the likely amnestied Calderon as who's left.

Every protected pick also moves reverts into something else eventually.

Sixers pick to Miami becomes 2 2nds if not conveyed. They all become something, but some become unprotected firsts, and some become 2nds or cash.

Really, I have no clue what Morey is doing. If the Bulls and Knicks match, then what? And it still makes no sense. How do you lose both Lowry and Dragic and all you get for your trouble is Gary Forbes and a future lotto pick? On top of that, you let Lee go and now, apparently, they made an offer for him? I don't know, but it looks as if that FO is totally confused/got thrown off their game. I guess we'll know soon.

This really puts the Raps in a great position. Not only do they have their new starting PG (and with Jose backing him, that gives them one of the best 1-2 PG punches in the league), but now they can play their kids, see what they have, and not worry if they end up in 9th.

If Houston gets the pick next year, I can't see it being better than 12th.

Rebuild /= Sit around and suck and don't try to improve at all until the lottery ball bounces your way.
But do you know what they call a fool, who's full of himself and jumps into the path of death because it's cool?

Seems like Houston is showing some interest in bring back Aaron Brooks. Be kinda funny if he goes back to Houston with Dragic going back to PHX.
