Notice that post was from September 20. I definitely would value Brewer higher now.

Well that explains that. Definitely didn't look at the post date.

GOLDEN STATE WARRIORS
Lineup:
PG Curry / Douglas / Nedovic
SG Thompson / Bazemore
SF Iguodala / Barnes / Green
PF Lee / Speights / Dedmon
C Bogut / Ezeli / O'Neal / Kuzmic

Outlook:
The Warriors are trying to contend for NBA Championship. Not sure if they are there quite yet, but they are definitely not looking for rebuilding type trades.

Needs:

The Warriors have one of, if not the best starting lineups in the league. Barnes is a pretty good 6th man. Their bottom 9 is crap. Ezeli and Douglas coming back from injury should help that a bit. Green is nice hustle guy with some skill.

The Warriors could use another decent big man that plays with effort (basically to replace Speights). Ezeli and JO are hurt... Ezeli not back until Jan/Feb. JO probably 2 weeks or so.

The Warriors could also use a better backup PG (than Douglas). They have tried Bazemore there and he just simply is not a PG. Nedovic looks okay, but he's a euro rookie and tough to tell from garbage time. Douglas is hurt for extended amount of time. Backup PG is only going to play about 8-10 mpg so its not necessary to look for a homerun, just a good solid vet PG or combo guard.

Untouchable: Curry

Unlikely to be traded: Iguodala, Bogut, Thompson, Lee, Barnes

Not shopping but will listen to offers: Ezeli, Green

Everyone else is available. No available draft picks to trade until 2019. I think we have a TE available for 11M.

I'm curious if anything has changed for teams now that we've gotten a chance to see what these team are for a bit.

For an OKC update:

bondom34 wrote:Nate, I like the setup, so I"m stealing! :D

OKC Thunder

Lineup:
PG - Russell Westbrook, Reggie Jackson
SG - Thabo Sefolosha, Jeremy Lamb
SF - Kevin Durant, Perry Jones
PF - Serge Ibaka, Nick Collison
C - Kendrick Perkins, Hasheem Thabeet
D - Ryan Gomes, Steven Adams, Derek Fisher, Daniel Orton

Orton or Gomes most likely will be cut (one of the two)

Needs: A center (on a not-terribly expensive contract). Literally, if you're 6'10" or taller and can catch a ball without fumbling it around clumsily, call. Its a lineup one big shy of a great title shot. Update: Not looking quite so bad with Adam's development, but wouldn't hurt.

Otherwise, bench depth doesn't hurt, and could use maybe a backup guard/forward, as KD could use a more solid backup, and I think Jackson can be a 1 or 2. If needed, a backup for the other guard position would be ideal.

Untouchable: Durant/Westbrook

Unlikely to be traded:Ibaka, Adams, Jackson, Lamb

Update:Unlikely unless something very impressive is in return: Adams, Lamb, Jackson (I could see Jackson being most likely as he's up for a deal soonest)

Available if a deal comes for a solid piece in return: Thabo, Collison, Jones, Thabeet

No meaningful trade value: Perkins

Also available is an owed 1st from Dallas (protected top 20 through I believe 2017).

Mostly the same, but Adams has upped his stock, as have Lamb/Jackson and to a lesser extent Jones. I really don't see any moves being as imminent as I did prior to the season considering I think Adams will get PO minutes.

Cleveland Cavs

Lineup

Bynum/Varejao/Sims/Zeller
Thompson/Varejao/Bennett
Gee/Clark
Miles/Waiters
Irving/Jack/Delladova

Needs, They need a SF, an another scoring option

Tradeable assets: if they have faith that bennett would play better in an increased role, they could move either Thompson or Varejao, Waiters is rumored to be available, Jack seemingly is someone they would be willing to move after Dec. 15

Untouchable Kyrie I personally disagree but I think cavs consider him an untochable, also Bynum I dont think he has much of a market, also manegment brought him in as a personal project they wont move him now. Bennett prob is too since they just took him number 1

Rockets: (Some changes since August...)

Lineup:
Howard, Asik, Smith
T.Jones, Casspi, Motiejunas
Parsons, Garcia, Covington
Harden, Lin, Brewer
Beverley, Brooks, Canaan

Needs:
SG/SF bench help-perimeter defense
Backup defensive minded C to replace Asik who is likely to be traded
If neither one of those is possible, just prospects and picks works fine

Do not need: A 'stretch 4' who makes 8 M a year or more

Untouchable: Howard, Harden, Parsons

Not shopping, but will listen to offers: Beverly, Lin, Jones, Casspi, Canaan

Expendable: Asik, possibly Lin, Jones for the right package, Motiejunas, Smith, Brewer, Covington, draft picks

Garcia and Brooks unlikely to be traded after taking lesser deals to stay with Rockets.

Toronto just traded for Chuck Hayes. He's a pretty decent vet. All I want is a second round pick and he's yours.

I'll put one up for us:

Portland

Current depth chart:
R. Lopez, J. Freeland, M. Leonard
L. Aldridge, T. Robinson, V. Claver
N. Batum, D. Wright
W. Matthews, W. Barton, A. Crabbe, (CJ McCollum)
D. Lillard, M. Williams, E. Watson

Untouchable: D. Lillard, L. Aldridge
Hard to get: W. Matthews, N. Batum, C. McCollum, R. Lopez, M. Williams
Expendable: T. Robinson, D. Wright, J. Freeland, A. Crabbe
Shopping/Trade Fillers: M. Leonard, W. Barton, V. Claver, E. Watson

Needs:
1. Bench scoring, preferably the backup PF or C spot. A reliable vet.
2. TRob can be had if said PF or C is coming back.
3. Will not trade McCollum until he returns unless it's a no-brainer.
4. Wes is extremely valuable to us.
Dammit...:

http://basketball.realgm.com/tradecheck ... de/6387599 This deal cannot be completed until Jan. 15th based on CBAbased on JR Smith's contract.

New York sends: JR Smith, Chris Smith, their 2018 1st rd. Pick & cash to cover Chris Smith's contract or up to 1 million.

Orlando sends: Arron Afflalo

I beleve this deal helps both teams, the Knicks get stabilization at the sg position Orlando gets a good player and a future draft pick they can package in another move.

Knicks starters: Melo, Bargnani, Tyson, Felton, Afflalo 2nd unit: Metta/ THJr, K-Mart, Amare, Pablo/Beno, Shump Rest: Tyler, Murry, Aldrich.

I'll fill you guys in on the Pistons

PG Brandon Jennings/Will Bynum/Chauncey Billups/Peyton Siva
SG Kentavious Caldwell-Pope/Rodney Stuckey
SF Josh Smith/Kyle Singler/Luigi Datome
PF Greg Monroe/Jonas Jerebko/Charlie Villanueva/Tony Mitchell
C Andre Drummond/Josh Harrellson

As to who's available:

Don't ask. Seriously don't even try: Andre Drummond
Available, but at a very high price: Greg Monroe, KCP
Trade purgatory, make us an offer: Josh Smith
Available for a better player at the same position: Brandon Jennings
Best of both worlds (Productive expiring contract): Rodney Stuckey
Cap relief in the form of a black Mr. Clean: Charlie Villanueva
Bench pieces on solid contracts: Bynum, Jerebko, Singler, Harrellson, Datome

The Pistons have been a team that have struggled finding an identity this year. They are highlighted by 3 above average post players, with varying ranges of potential improvement (from none to future DPOY).

We also feature:
a trigger happy point guard who is improving on his facilitating
a shooting guard who plays elite defense but is struggling finding confidence in his shot
a backup guard who excels driving the lane, finishes well, defends well, can score in the post, has an improved shot and can run point when needed
a wing who hustles, and is amazingly average in all facets
a couple bigs who can shoot and defend but aren't legitimate starters
a backup point guard who is the definition of a heat check player

NEEDS:

Shooting. Seriously that's about it.

Maybe a defensive stopper at the 3 or an athletic big who can block shots

Edit* our 2014 pick belongs to Charlotte

Gd trade for both teams

Orlando gets: Amare I believe he has a lot more left than most think it will never come out again in NY and is from Florida Shumpert elite defender, but needs a change of scenery with a new team that will instill belief in him JR is explosive in more ways than one lol but he can score a change won't hurt him either, his lil bro is just part of the package lol

The Knicks get: Arron Afflalo to give them some stability to our sg position Big Baby gives us some more toughness Hedo just a throw in is a gd passer & 3pt shooter.

Knicks Line ups:

Starters: Melo, Bargnani, Tyson, Felton, Afflalo.
2nd unit: Metta, K-Mart, Big Baby, Pablo, Hardaway Jr.
3rd team: Hedo, Tyler, Aldrich, Beno, Murry.

notSonics
A third of the way through the year is about the right time for an update.

Lineup:
PG Westbrook, Jackson
SG Sefolosha, Lamb, Fisher, Roberson
SF Durant, Jones, Gomes
PF Ibaka, Collison
C Perkins, Adams, Thabeet

Needs:
Our weakest starters are Sefolosha and Perkins. Perkins has gotten all the negative attention because he's overpaid and Sefolosha is not. However, both guys contribute, team chemistry is good and we've got a strong group of kids (Adams/Pleiß and Lamb/Roberson) in the pipeline getting ready to replace them. As importantly, Brooks has been coaching as if he finally has tenure. He's playing the kids, adjusting rotations strategically and the offense is not so reliant on isolations anymore. And we happen to have the best record in the league... we like our chances to win it this year. On top of all that, we've still got all our 1sts plus an extra one from Dallas. And our salary cap situation looks good going forward although resigning Jackson could be problematic. Bottom line is that we don't have any real needs. Unless it's an amazing deal we are not likely to be interested. Still too early to talk about next summer's draft, but I could see us looking for another PG.

Untouchable: Durant, Westbrook and Fisher
The first two guys are really good. Brooks has excessive man love for the old guy.

Unlikely to be traded: Ibaka, Collison, Jackson, Adams, Lamb, Pleiß and Dallas 1st
Ibaka is awesome. Probably should be in the untouchable category. Collison is the Chuck Norris of backup bigs. Plus he's really funny. And the kids are all seriously exceeding expectations. The only way Jackson gets traded is another Harden scenario, but that's not today's worry. That Dallas pick becomes super interesting if the Mavs don't finish as a top ten team this year.

Not shopping but will listen to offers: Perkins, Sefolosha, PJ3, Roberson, our 1sts and $6.5M TPE
We like PJ3. He's suffering the numbers game but he'll get his chance next year. Roberson is a plus athlete, wing defender and rebounder but he can't shoot. Yet. Not paying to "dump" Perk. We probably won't even amnesty him next summer unless that $6.5M TPE gets used, we need the money to sign Jackson or Pleiß comes over in a big way.

Expendable: Thabeet and Gomes
At least they're on cheap expiring contracts.
notSonics 2016
Starters - Trey, Roberson, KD, Ibaka, Adams
Rotation - Payne, Waiters, Green, McGary, Kanter
Bench - Collison, Christon, Brodgon, Huestis
Stash - Johnson, Abrine
Cut - Morrow
Trade - Singler
Draft - Brogdon
FA - Green

Toronto Updated

Lineup:
PG Lowry/Vasquez/Byucks
SG DeRozan/Salmons/Daye
SF Ross/Fields/Novak
PF Johnson/Psycho T
C Valanciunas/Patterson/Hayes

Needs: Obvious need is to solidify the bench, right now its just not strong enough to help us win games, but if playing well they also won't lose a game for us. With the way the Raps have been playing lately and the strength of the East in general it looks like we are playoff bound and would be looking for a strong combo guard to help out Lowry and spell Derozan and Ross. Other obvious need is a true backup C and to decide between Patterson and Psycho T. Neither can play C against starting centres, but neither has really claimed the backup PF spot. There is also still much discussion on the Raps board regarding the idea of tanking or pushing for success in the playoffs. Depending on your own view the Raps could be selling Lowry, and possibly Johnson, near the deadline for future assets, or using whatever draft picks and players to upgrade our bench. Unlikely that the Raps have the assets for a big name but you never know.

Untouchable: Valanciunas (Would have to blow us away)

Unlikely to be traded: Lowry, DeRozan, Johnson, Ross

Will listen to offers: Vasquez, Hansbrough, Salmons, Patterson, maybe the Knicks 2016 pick

No meaningful or very little trade value: Fields, Novak, Hayes, Byucks, Daye
Man, we talkin' bout practice

Golden St.....

With one close loss in the past dozen games...GSW feels no urgency. Douglas is good on D ..can make 3's but otherwise is not much of a scorer and his Point skills ain't great. Since Iggy does some PG, and Curry often plays 35-40 min...it's not a BIG thing. GSW bought pick #30, took a G ..Nedovic. I don't see Euros and Euro stats... don't tell me much, but I assume someone thought he was worth getting. He has yet to show anything. GSW could use a cheap but actual PG...with Douglas or Nedovic or both available. GSW is not far under the Lux so they do not want to add much salary Basically... paying a guy in the $4-5 mill zone to play no more than 10 min...is not good.

GSW likes Barnes. There's been a LOT of deals based on getting him cheap. That won't fly.. Lee also is doing just fine. knuckleheads try to say he sucks on D, is too much $, is not a "winner" but they WANT me to trade him to their team anyhow...and fuss when I say no.

Speights was mediocre his first month here...and since has been a good "bang for the buck". He currently is our C backup. Later...JO and Ezeli will be back and he will mostly be a PF backup. He may be a player the staff works with, so, he becomes better than he was.

GSW...with hardly any ability to trade a pick, without any guy they can get something for...who they might deal...likely is pretty low profile for now. Post season they might do something but even then...I do not expect any BIG move unless some offer is WAY better than seems likely.
CENSORED... No comment.

I have a GSW update from KNBR 680 radio Warriors' broadcasting team who I listened to while at work tonight. Tim Roye told me that Jermaine O'Neal is back on the practice court, his cast is off and he should be ready to be in the lineup in a few weeks. Very good news for the W's.

The W's Roundtable crew also told me to wait until March for further Festus Ezeli information but they had an optimistic tone and made it sound like he'll be recovered from the injury late in the season and ready for the playoffs once he regains his conditioning.

Having 3 defensive centers ready for the playoffs is huge for the W's. They're a much better team when they have a shot blocking presence in the middle of the lane.

GSW could still use a pass first veteran PG on the cheap but are more likely to just roll with Crawford and hopefully, eventually Nedovic as their PG depth which could very well end up with disastrous consequences.

Barnes is only available for the right price which isn't Hinrich and a couple of 2nd round picks.

In a few weeks GSW's rotation should look like this:

Curry/Crawford/Nedovic (gains confidence and starts being a spot contributor, highly optimistic here)
Thompson/Crawford/Bazemore (focuses on being spot defensive stopper rather then spot PG)
Iguodala/Barnes/Green (continues being swiss army knife)
Lee/Green/Speights (decreased role with increased O'Neal and Ezeli health)
Bogut/O'Neal/Speights/Ezeli (back @ end of the season)
