Celtics are better off finding a desperate contender to trade with... like the Cavs.

That sounds like healthy Rubio and Martin represent some kind of potent backcourt. They do not.

With healthy Rubio, Martin and Pek plus Love they were a borderline play-off team. Since then the West got even stronger and they traded Love for Wiggins.

Unless something dramatic will happen to some play-off teams, the Wolves' chances for the play-off next season are close to zero.

Bumping threads to pat yourself on the back are always welcome. Bumping threads in an attempt to belittle another poster never is. Do not do this.

Don't you take yourself a bit too seriously?

First, I am serious business and you better recognize.

Second, what other possible reason was there for you to bump this thread quoting him?

I wouldn't assume that Minny is tanking next year. After they pick this year, they are going to be at the threshold in terms of young players getting integrated into the roster. Look at their roster: Deing, Shabazz, LeVine, Wiggins, (Bennett), and probably a top-3 pick in 2015. That's a lot of youth. Now add in Rubio, K. Mart and Pek all coming back from injuries, a possible trade, and this could be a pretty quick rebuild. When I look at Memphis, SA, Dallas, and the Clippers, I see teams that are getting older and could lose a piece or two on top of it.

Surprised another team didn't go after him like The Spurs he would be perfect there or Toronto or Atlanta. All 3 teams would have been better off with him.

Not often we get a deal called exactly, even a small one. Props to the OP!

Actually Dallas has been getting considerably younger. Parsons in for Marion. Rondo in for Calderon. Even Chandler is younger than Dalembert. Yes we have some older role players, but the core is what counts and only Dirk is past his prime of our core.

Props OP ! You got it right !
Shaq on Duncan:SA won because of TD, a guy I could never break.I could talk trash to Ewing, get in D-Rob's face, get a rise out of Mourning, but when I went at Tim he’d look at me like he was bored and say:“Hey,Shaq, watch this shot right off the glass.”

I quoted him because I thought that is the appropriate time for doing this.

He is one of the best posters here and I also personally did benefit from his efforts (cap space and FA-series) made on this board.

BTW, is overreacting and being patronizing also part of your business on this board?

If you really consider this bumping (after correctly predicting a real trade) that painful please lock this thread and handle out a life-time ban for me.

First, I said for me. Second, it seems to be a protected first. Minnesota always could be decent next year and it ends up a first.

Beyond that, a couple of weeks ago it looked like Wright had more value than this. Since then he had barely played and can't get time in front of the other Boston bigs. So, they didn't get what I thought they could/should.

Finally, good call by you. Well done.

I'm good guys. Let's not escalate things. I appreciate Chuck having my back and moderating as awesome as he does. I also appreciate the fact that you called the deal right on. Mostly I'm just hoping Minnesota rapidly rebuilds in to slight mediocrity so this remains a late lotto first! :D

I may have overreacted a bit. I think simply bumping the thread and pointing out that you called this one would have sufficed without the need to quote Smitty. It read pretty snarky to me. My mistake for reading that wrong.

Now you've overreacted in turn by suggesting I'm going to life-time ban you. We both look a little silly so let's move on.

Props to you for predicting this and I think Wright is a good fit for the Suns.

I didn't feel like starting a new thread for this, but I think that for the next couple of years, the second round of the draft should just be held as a conference call between the 76ers and Celtics..... Stop the TV broadcast after everybody else has picked, and then just have Philly and Boston draft up a note telling everybody else who they drafted for the next 30 picks.....
If I don't have anything funny to say, can I still have a signature?

hcsilla wrote:After trading Tolliver now the Suns have enough cap room to absorb Wright's contract:

Wright for MIN 2015 1st rounder (protected for selections 1-12 in 2015 and 1-12 in 2016; if Minnesota has not conveyed a 1st round pick to Phoenix by 2016, then Minnesota will instead convey its 2016 2nd round pick and 2017 2nd round pick to Phoenix)

The Suns obviously need frontcourt-help while the Celtics cashing in two high 2nd rounders for the expiring Wright who they don't need anyway.

Nicely done!

I don't know about this. Unless they pull off some big time win-now trade, Minnesota's too young to compete yet. I don't see them being competitive in this stacked conference until 2016-17.

They don't need to compete in the West. Just be better than a couple of teams and all the garbage teams in the East. :D

This is a fun one to watch. Good weak side shot blocker. Would be a nice complement to Len.
