My guess, if anything happens:
simple version: Kanter into Milwaukee's capspace for their 1st, protected, and maybe a Johnny O'Bryant
or
slightly expanded: Kanter and Novak for Ilyasova, their 1st protected, and maybe a Johnny O'Bryant

Those make the most sense to me. If the Bucks go after Kanter at all, it'll be for guys who *aren't* a big part of their push.

I agree. That makes a lot more sense for the Bucks.

teams with that sort of claim don't end up being perennial lottery team.

It does when both of your PGs are rookies and your SGs are injured and you have a recently signed player from the D-League playing starter minutes in their place.

I think I would recognize Knight and Giannis and maybe Henson. But, Middleton??? Who is that?

Milwaukee has a serious tendency to overrate their players but Middleton is a nice above average player. With that said, Kanter holds more trade value in this one.

Hayward and the "best front court in the nba" don't get you to where you are today on a consistent basis, just doesn't matter about the other players. Not saying challenging for playoffs spot but certainly not bottom end of lottery contention every year. The best front court is Marc/Zbo everything after is debatable

**** no.

Your obsession with Hood is weird. He really isn't good. I know he's been hurt but I don't understand the infatuation with him from you and others.

Intriguing, but probably not. Ersan is a bit of a negative value at this point given his injury history and lack of production recently. Hood is promising player on rookie contract and could become as good as Middleton before his contract is up as he has good length, nice stroke/form shooting from distance and can handle the ball well (a Middleton shortcoming). Jury is still out as to whether he'll become as good a defender as Middleton, but it's possible.

Bucks won't or shouldn't do anything involving our pick, Middleton, or Henson. Kanter is not worth that much, he cannot defend and is a blackhole, he does nothing at an elite level. Ersan + LAC 1st is as good of an offer you're going to get from the Bucks board.

Middleton is a much better player than Kanter. Kanter has a very good chance of never being as good of a player as Middleton is right now, and Middleton is only 23 himself. Not trading Middleton unless Exum is coming back

Middleton is one of the best 3D guys in the NBA with legit size at the 3. He has also expanded his game his year.

He's way more valuable than Kanter.

I'm not a fan of it for the jazz. I think Hood will end up being just as good as Middleton within a few years.

I don't think we are a good match. Kanter is a far more valuable asset than the things the Bucks are willing to offer.

Add the Kings in the trade since they have had interest in Ilyasova in the past

Bucks get Kanter
Kings get: Ilyasova
Jazz get: Stauskas/Thompson/Clippers 2017 1st

6'7" Shooting Guard/Small Forward averaging 14p/5.4r/2.2s in 32 minutes a game since the beginning of January on 53/43/89 shooting.

I don't know how much stock you put in it but he also rates #6 in real plus minus on ESPN

Overall he is a pretty darn good player on both ends of the floor.

When is there going to be an actual trade, even a tiny one? I don't think there has been one, and I'm guessing that it will be a very uneventful deadline. With the new TV deal the NBA is flush with cash and there are few if any teams looking to unload salaries. Plus when the cap jumps to $85-90 million, the luxury tax becomes less of an issue.

Link?

How does Milwaukee overrate their players? Buck fans really missed on Giannis, didn't they??

What is so good about Kanter. Is it his poor usage rate, his subpar ts% or his awful defense?

Not trading Middleton for Kanter.

Bucks and Jazz Rumors

Post#40 » by jayjaysee » Thu Feb 19, 2015 12:04 am

Agree it should be the Bucks 2015 first if the organization likes a Kanter/Henson front court.. Which I feel could work. Not sure why others don't see the potential there? I guess it's kind of a "why mess with a good thing" ... But, up until recently, the good thing was considered a great thing because they were playing without Sanders and Parker.. They could really use a new center to put faith in. And their draft pick isn't going to make that happen.

I don't see how Middleton hasn't played himself into a 7-8 million dollar a year deal (at least).. Burks got 11 million for being the same player, on a ranking team.

But a lot of people just don't like Kanter, which can't really be changed.

Kanter for Inglis+lotto protected 2015 first.. Would be my shot I guess, though the Jazz should be theoretically set at the wings and don't really need to be adding more prospects there.. They really only need a PG...
