here's a crazy thought. Bird has talked about moving to PF himself late in his career and enjoying it. that was when he had back troubles. if Paul is a half step slower than before the leg break even if that condition is temporary, might playing the 4 help cover up any lingering effects of the injury?


I think that's a good point. Having Paul spend more time defending 4 could actually be less demanding than the defensive responsibility he's taken on the last couple of years.

I'm a little surprised Paul George moving to the 4 has been delivered the way it has because I expect the reality will be a more positionless approach designed to create space rather than a high low post system that gets employed when you utilize a traditional center and power forward. It's not like he's going to be working against bigger stronger guys on the block trying to find a shot with his back to the basket.
