OKC gets 2 high 2nds and saves money and take a flier on Pondexter.

NOP takes a flier on Waiters and dumps Pondexter's deal.

NOP wants to dump Pondexter? Re-route him to us, I'll take him for Brian Roberts, PJ Hairston, and a 2nd round pick.

Because he's a worse version of Anthony Morrow. He's been a terrible defender his entire career despite the reputation he somehow has as a 3&D guy and he's not as consistent a shooter as Morrow is. So the team would be better off giving those wing minutes to Roberson/Morrow and playing 2 PG's together.

Yet he's still better than Waiters, right? I mean I have him in my book as a hustle guy that can shoot at little bit and just plays hard. :-?

New Orleans is going to have such tremendous depth problems next offseason that they shouldn´t really be using 2nd rounders to dump one of the few cheap guys they have (even if he isn´t particularly good).

There's always the option to just bench Waiters and Augustine and go with Cam and Morrow more.
Are there still believers in Singler? What a terrible decision that contract was...

Bucks have a 5.2M trade exception. I'd be down for using that to acquire him and likely buy him out and then in a second deal we would send Bayless or Copeland for Cameron Payne to complete the deal.

There is zero chance the Thunder are going to use Payne to salary dump Waiters. Cmon now.

Obviously I am not a Thunder fan, so will freely admit I don't know how they value him, like at all. To do the deal, that is the guy I would want back. I mean, McGary was untouchable on this board just one year ago by Thunder fans and now he is in play for a salary dump.

That said, I have no problem what so ever if Thunder fans aren't interested in the deal. I'm not totally up to date on their luxury tax situation but a TPE would pretty much be the ultimate return for someone over the threshold, wouldn't it?

no doubt a TPE would be really nice for them. But to use the guy they just picked in the lottery to create it is too steep.

And that is fair enough, I get people loving their recently drafted players. I'm the same way for all our youngs.

Could probably add taking on Novak for a second TPE that was created by Dudley. Not sure what total savings that would be, but that's lots of millions of dollars for sure for a back up PG playing behind your superstar player.

Well.....McRoberts was injured last I heard. Even so....Waiters is low efficiency, bad chemistry. I remember being scared as hell the Warriors might draft him. :banghead: Glad they did not.

McGary was never untouchable. Ever, Payne on the other hand is a way better prospect, I love me some McGary but he's an energy bench big. There's no way Payne is used for this, I mean for Bayless? McGary sure, but no to that.

Yeah, this I'd probably consider but the actual front office wouldn't sadly. I just want him gone at this point.

I still believe he'll eventually be replacement level again, but what a horrific regression he's had.

I'd think about it. McBob would probably be capable of taking some Collison minutes.

Would have to be part of a separate deal to find another SG ball handler, though. We don't have enough ball handling as it is.

What about sendng McBob to Dallas and Devin to OKC? He's a SG ball handler pretty much. Saves you a bit more money too. Dallas gets another big who knows how to play.

Would you do Waiters and McGary for Hollis and Canaan? That saves you a ton of tax money.

This idea might be able to be expanded to get you guys a pick too. Thinking PHX and Kieff, or maybe MEM wants Waiters? But working out the specifics will take a bit.

I'm not sure either of those 2 are any help more than Waiters or McGary, so I'd pass and just let Waiters expire at that point.

From another thread, but Suns fans (some) seem to like Kanter/McGary for Chandler/Tucker and that could be expanded to add a Waiters/Morris swap. I don't want Morris but I'd take him if it meant getting that deal done.

His numbers are actually better than they were last year with OKC...
