For the classic folks he reminds me a little of Mitch Richmond. A good two player that can guard 1-3. A championship piece. Wouldn't trade him for an unknown commodity.

Lmao HOF'er Mitch "the rock" Richmond?! I think not.

There is no one in this draft worth trading Ingram for.

I like Hart and think Lakers did well picking at the end of the draft but he projects more to me as a nice bench wing/guard. A guy everyone loves right now but once he gets paid could easily look like a bad contract.

More Kent Bazemore than Jrue or Mitch

Good thing we have 3 more years of control to know if he is a Jrue or not

I don't think this is any disrespect to Hart. Bazemore was a really good piece, its not his fault that he got paid 15 million per year. At 8 mil, many teams would probably look at him as an asset off the bench.

I am not saying your disrespecting him or not but more of a thing that your talking about him getting over paid and i am just pointing out its 3 years away and by then we will know if he is a Bazemore or a Jrue

Hypothetically if Phoenix was in asset acquiring mode they could do 1/Knight for 3/19/2019 Cle 1st (taking a chance on Bron leaving?) then do 3 for Ball and maybe a smaller asset? (is 25 too much? Not enough? 2019 LAL 1st?) then compound 19/25 and move up again? :D
Rest in peace Mamba. There'll never be another Kobe.

Is this response for any particular person or is it a blanket statement to all?

You might be correct about that, but its arguable that Doncic could be worth it. But, you factor in dumping Deng's contract its definitely worth it imo.

Do they have a salary cap on fanside?

I pointed out that trading the 2019 & 2020 first round picks was illegal and never got a response from the OP.

So don't hold your breath waiting for a response.

So:
Ingram and Ball are each better than the 1st pick.
Hart is better than a top 5 pick.
And I'm guessing Kuzma is better than Hart?

Surprised the Lakers aren't still playing.

It doesn't look like there's much here to work with beyond "if a player most people think is going to be really great falls a little, what could the lakers give up to get him without giving up any of our existing young talent?"

If we're having a serious discussion from the POV of, say, Memphis, I think it's probably either Ingraham+ or Ball&Kuzma+. The plus is probably some combination of Hart, the #25, and future protected firsts (to be clear: not all of these things).

If that's interesting then we can discuss the precise packages, and even talk about broadening the trade to include Gasol (and even Deng!) but not if we're starting by labelling every non-Zubac young lakers player as more valuable than every pick in the draft. That's just not true or helpful.

2014 Draft
#7 - Randle (Lakers)

2015 Draft
#2 - Russell (Lakers)

2016 Draft
#2 - Ingram (Lakers
#3 - Brown (Boston)

2017 Draft
#2 - Ball (Lakers)
#3 - Tatum (Boston)

2018 Draft
#25 - Lakers
#27 - Boston

The Celtics and the Lakers never traded outside of the high lottery in recent years, but the expectations appear to be that other teams are supposed to do it for them.

I think Ball and Ingram would be the asking price without taking on contract. Even if they take on contract, one of the duo must be heading back to the lottery team. I don't see LAL interests in it. Technically, Ingram is a 3 and Ball is a 1. Doncic is a 3/1.
