My issue isn't value so much. It's that Batum would prevent Dallas from putting enough around Luka/Jrue to make it worthwhile.

The two teams would be good trade partners. I'm sure something could be worked out.Diop wrote:trading for Lakers pieces is my favourite option for Charlotte.

Kemba, Batum for Barnes, Smith Jr, and 1 mill throw in contract.
Dallas go for the playoffs this year, Kemba plays best next to a play making forward (hence why we got Batum in the first place) and I think trading for him would definitely increase their chance of keeping him.
Charlotte gives Smith Jr the reigns to play alongside Monk, Bridges and Graham.
If Batum is just to hard to swallow then Kemba for Smith Jr and Powell.
Lakers are going to constantly have pressure to win and Kemba could play the Irving roll well next to Lebron.
I don't want to do the obvious Ball offers, Lakers want to keep him and he is big enough to play alongside Kemba who excels as a scoring guard.
Kemba for Ingram and Hart.
Charlotte see what they can do with Graham, Monk, Hart, Bridges and Ingram. Would like to grab Zubac as well if we could.
Kemba, Rondo
Ball, Caldwell-Pope
Lebron, Lance
Kuzma, Beasley
Chandler/Mcgee
Dallas and Lakers fans, how much do you hate these trades for our "over rated, expiring all-star point guard?
OrlandoDream wrote:Kemba and Luka will not fit together. DAL is listening to offers for DSJr because they dont want another ball dominant PG next to Luka. Kemba is just that. Kemba would be a better fit in Philly. Heck, he would draw immediate interest from Orlando. However unless he commits to resign where he is traded, not many teams are going to pay kings ransom for 4 months of Kemba. Better just wait until the offseason.
This is all moot though. MJ will not trade Kemba and wants to resign him at all cost. He wont admit defeat.....its MJ

Jrue is maybe the ideally guard to put next to Luka. He's a top defender, wants to play off the ball, but can guard both guard positions; he can shoot while also being a really good secondary playmaker. The issue with him is that he is 28-years old (going on 29 in a few months I think), and as good as Luka is, I don't think we are in position to be an "all-in team". I'd pass on adding him unless Dallas had the ability to add another player after that. And we simply dont have the assets for that.
Same rule applies to Kemba, though he isn't as good of a fit.
