I don’t agree with that. It is also ease of transaction. If KD does approach Magic and want to play in Lakers Land minus James — that is a small window to find a team that checks all the boxes in trade. Has salary and value to send out. James would suit up non disgruntled. Would be willing to trade with Lakers (knowing their plan). And others.

Not impossible. That is why that scenario discussed in many threads.
