i dont think you can give him more then that. if you do, you are saying you are going to build your team around him. and that just isnt feasible. as your best player he gets you a 6-8 seed in the east. if you pair him with another max player it gets worse.... because his value diminishes greatly with less volume as he provides little outside of offense.

$20M/yr isn't really building your team around him money. It's 3rd option/3rd best player money. If he can be the clear best player on a .500 team (as he was this year) I don't think it's unreasonable to consider him a 2nd or certainly 3rd best player on a good team.

I'm curious what you mean by the bolded/underlined part. Can you elaborate? If people are efficient at a high volume, they normally are even more efficient at a lower volume. They also tend to have more energy to exert on things like rebounding, moving without the ball, defense, etc.

I think his market could be disappointing for an all-star considering how teams feel about centers. He might have to take 1 year 20 million from the Lakers.
