Masai said that this guys aren't going for tanking pieces. I don't think we take Harrell because of the fit as well. He's due to get paid and plays the same position as Siakam.

Disagree the 2020 pick and the FS center should be enough Toronto doesn’t really have a good ceiling and they should embrace some value for exps

What’s the lowest pick for Gasol that you would accept?
2020 draft isn't looking good. I don't see many middle of the pack players who are going to be great. There are decent players but IMHO I am not moving Gasol for glut. We don't need Harkless when we have Anunoby and Hollis-Jefferson and we don't need McGruder especially with his 2 extra years at $6 million when we have Powell, Davis, McCaw and Stanley Johnson. Drawing a blank what or who is this FS center?

Depending on what's coming back, I don't like this draft outside #10. I think Gasol doesn't sniff anything close to that unless we're taking back Wiggins level bad deal. I just don't see Ujiri doing a deal to get a pick unless he tears the entire team down. Toronto won their championship albeit with Leonard and are trying to stay competitive. This team isn't bad just not elite compared to The Clippers, 76ers or Denver but we are a top ten team

I can't see a Jonas V to Clippers deal making sense without Zubac coming back. Maybe Harkless and Zubac for Kyle Anderson and JV? If Clarke looks like a starting quality big for Memphis alongside JJJ, it makes sense. This deal opens up 15M-ish in cap space for Memphis after this year to work with and Zubac is 5 years younger than JV. Clippers get a more skilled offensive wing in Anderson and he's probably as good a team defender as Harkless I believe (Blazers, Spurs and Grizz fans will know better but) and Kawhi and George will be guarding the best 1 on 1 wings anyways, and JV is simply more ready to bang with the big boys in 4 playoff rounds than Zubac. Better outside shooter too.
Where's the D?

On the surface, JV is a massive upgrade for the Clippers.

The problem is, between PG, Kawhi and Lou all wanting at least 20 shots per game, and all wanting the freedom to drive the rim, i feel like JV would run into the same offensive issues he had with the Raps. Not enough touches, not enough minutes, and too often in the way.

I think it helps them get home court advantage in the regular season which might end up being incredibly valuable. On the nights you have to load manage the stars, JV can get those extra touches.

Or simply JV dominating the glass, throwing his body around, his consistency etc. You need someone down in the trenches, doing the dirty work.

If the Clippers are trading for a C, it seems to me that they would prefer to target someone more athletic than JV who gives them more size and can also defend pick and rolls.

Gorgi Dieng could actually make sense for this group. Or even Ian Mihimni. Both guys will cost very little, and as a 9th/10th player in a limited role, aren't bad.
