Vuc needs to go to a team where he's not the lead. Magic fans like me are don't like him because I want a new direction for the team, not because he sucks.

This trade idea is a great one. I do love me some Oubre though. More than most.

Vucevic is good but IMHO is he that missing piece? This basically is Toronto forgoing the '21 FA class to get a guy who may or may not fit and is signed for 3 additional years. I don't think he is the answer here personally, Toronto still has two major holes so do they overpay both Ibaka and VanVleet to keep them here? That makes them an expensive team.

I still think they are trying to lure Giannis Antetokounmpo here and try to acquire a player maybe in a trade with Powell, their pick this year and a future pick or VanVleet in a sign and trade

Salary wise it would come out to:

Vuc 26M/Ibaka ?13M (above MLE money)
Siakam 30M/Boucher ?4M
OG 3.5M/TDII 1M
Powell 11M/Thomas 1M
FVV ?20M/Rubio 17M

which adds up to ~127M, which lets us squeeze in under the tax. I was really encouraged by how well our team did without kawhi and w/ gasol's decline. I think by adding vuc and rubio we have potential to go all the way. Giannis FA pursuit is high risk, high reward, while this is a more calculated move.

First if Toronto did this Freddy and Ibaka have to agree to team friendly deals. I don't see them trading for Vucevic before hand. I still don't like that team post trade they are very thin at the backup SG spot and backup SF and backup PF with no real money to address it. I don't think Boucher, Thomas and Davis are answers playing big minutes. Your going to have to hope that you strike pay dirt on a MLE level guy who can play the SF/PF like Hollis-Jefferson did for us this year

I do not think Toronto would have interest in this.
