If anybody does not follow Krawczynski, definitely do it. Among team reporters around the League, I really do not think there is somebody more reliable.

Super exciting news, Ricky is going to be huge for this team.

Love it for Minnesota. Not a big fan for OKC unless notably more is involved.

these feels like it values Rubio as about neutral, or maybe a highish second? I'd have thought #25 & #28 are only a little short of #17 on their own?

All at once?
Or is Anthony now blocked from starting. I'm really curious to see the depth chart here.

I'm guessing Rubio in a 6th man role that still plays 25-30+ a night.

getting pure cap space makes a ton of sense for OKC, so they can absorb more contracts for more picks. I didn't think they'd be able to move Rubio that easily so well done

Here and there. Not full time. I think you'll see more of a 3 man rotation than significant time in a 3 guard offense, but who's to say?

I think Edwards plays the 3 even if he's short for it

If he can play defense at all, yeah. He's the bulkier and more athletic of the two for sure.

I thought Rubio was pretty solid? The pick swap is fair, whatever, but I wonder why they added him. Maybe they want his decent money off the books to take on bad money + picks from elsewhere?

So is this deal for cap space (?) or is OKC taking back JJ?

Happy for Ricky, thought he got a raw deal with Paul pushing his way to Phx!! Glad he could go back to a familiar and loving place. He should run the point and turn D Lo into Booker basically. Crazy to think in terms of caring, but I'm actually gonna sleep better tonight knowing that this worked out this way for him!!!

Yeah I’d like to know this too.

Don’t think the Wolves can just take on the cap.

I suspect MIN prefers to act as an over-the-cap team, so this will likely be announced when Johnson picks up his player option.

I think the price is fair for both. The picks even out, and Rubio is more productive than Johnson, but JJ is probably more tradable [sorry, teams that trade with Presti] as an expiring than Ricky (PG is crowded position and he has a second year). I think MIN dealt with OKC and escaped without losing their shirt, but we will see.

Rubio is probably the second-most loved Wolf of all time, and MIN is near the bottom in attendance. As I always say, the NBA is an entertainment business. However, Rubio fits the roster as a player as well. He is still a strong defender, which DLo or Beasley will need, and he also is all about his team’s success, so he can let those guys score.

But I am more intrigued with Rubio and Edwards. One talent Rubio has that is often overlooked is that his passing makes the game easier for other players. It’s why I advocated a trade last year to PHX or ORL, to help develop their youth. Kevin Love commented on it as a rookie, saying that Rubio doesn’t wait for a passing lane to open up - he anticipates them, so players get the ball a half step earlier. Once he got used to it (and Love admits to getting hit in the face with balls a few times before he started expecting passes like this), Love said this made the game much easier - he had a head start on beating his defender.

Edwards has tremendous physical skills, but he has not gotten a very good education on basketball fundamentals, and people question his passion for the game. I am much happier with the pick knowing that Rubio can help him with both of these flaws.

Minnesota needs some solid vets. This is a win for them. Presti looks to be going to tank mode. Have to wonder how this will sit with SGA. He gets traded to a playoff team that is soon turned into a tank mode team.

Maybe Presti plans on a one season tank and quick turn around. That is not easy to do by any stretch.
