So, if Ja and Harden were both on the table, you would pick Harden for your team? Just curious.
Yes, I would. I love Ja, but Harden is one of the most impactful offensive players in the history of the game. But, if I were a rebuilding team, the choice would be equally as obvious, I just think that, in general, most teams don't view themselves as rebuilding and would prefer the transcendent player.
And you likely suspect that Ja will be highly impactful player for 12-15 years ahead, while Harden for only 2, and this fact somehow doesn’t count in terms of market value Ok. Thanks.
I like Ja but Harden is a great player. Will Ja ever be as good as Harden is now? My issue with Harden is the enormous salary he gets, his age, and how long does he have to play at this level. I'm guessing 3 or 4 years then we'll see some drop off. Yes Ja is 22 and improving and on a rookie contract and he should be playing years after harden is retired. All that said, I still give harden more value today, because we are talking about today not 3-4 years from now.

Love Ja. Wouldn't trade him for Harden. Certain teams would value Ja significantly more than Harden. Still give Harden the slight edge value-wise in a vacuum purely because Harden has proven himself and Ja, though a potential superstar in the making, is still a bet on potential. A bird in the hand over two in the bush sort of thing. I expect Ja to continue to rise up the rankings over the next few years as he converts that potential. He is getting his proper respect by being in the mix already and will ultimately win the vote here before too long. I personally am leaning Dame, Harden, then Ja with the current available players though it is easy to argue for others as well. Just my two cents.

You are a better poster than this. I stated my reasons, you don't have to agree with them. I do think a team with Harden as their best player has a better chance of winning a championship in the next 3 season than a team with Ja as their best player has winning a championship in their next 10. I could be wrong, but I don't think I am, players of Harden's impact are very rare, and I don't think Ja is one of them (of all the sub 22 year old players, I think only Luka is).
The only reason for me being unusually persistent here is my genuine desire to know the reasons behind your opinion which I always have respect to. Nothing beyond that. No intent to offend.

Fair enough, I misinterpreted. I tend to favor players at their peak to prospects with fairly unknown upside. I think Ja will be very good and could be great (for example, I feel comfortable saying his upside is better than Mitchell), but Harden would turn most teams in the league into a contender right now if you added him, and his advanced metrics on offense are historically great.

May I make my last comment before I shut up? You are talking about Harden who joined 2 other superstars because this is the only chance for him to play for a real contender? On contrast, a tiny 21 y/o kid brought a bunch of never seen each other no-name dudes to PO in his first nba season.
