Nowell I think has earned the 6th man spot, they are playing him at PG some as well. He'll get minutes. McDaniels might be behind Cunningham or Green if we take either, but who knows really...we still need his D.

I envy MIN fans. The ORL fans on RealGM are incredibly down on their players but MIN fans here treat guys barely getting PT on a dumpster fire of a team like they’re untouchable all-stars. Your optimism will serve you well in life (if not basketball).

Houston is trying to lose just as much as Minny - so not seeing it.
Hoping it is not true. The ORL players I would like to see in HOU: Isaac (not going to happen), Bamba/Okeke (maybe?)

Gotta give to get.. and Nowell could find some time at PG.

But we are only giving, not getting...

 This is what Minny fans are thinking. This is probably to do more with knowing your own players than the other team's players. Same for them.

Not to worry. Trading Cole Anthony is sacrilegious on the Magic forum too. I don't care about MIN fans not agreeing to the trade. I only care about whether the value is right. Fans get pissed off at the trades their teams do in real life all the time.

Sacrilegious is a strong word. People were impressed by his ability to step into a bad situation as a rookie and look at least average, with flashes to be a decent scorer. He is hardly in the same tier as Isaac who you would think is a top 10 player when it is more likely that he is out of the league in 3 years due to his injuries than he is in an allstar game.

You are not familiar with some very prominent Magic posters are you?

But setting that aside generalizing while also calling a team a dumpster fire probably crosses the line into baiting. Let's avoid that sort of thing moving forward please.

Except most of us have no problem trading our players, just not the obvious hits that are locked in on cheap contracts. Right now I would say unless something spectacular comes along McDaniels, Nowell, Reid are pretty untouchable. If we were to get out from under DLo's contract and we were going after something better than an average starting PF in Gordon (like and all-star) maybe we wouldn't need the value as much. Edwards and Towns are the only other guys we wouldn't care to move. That is only FIVE players and you have to understand, this team hasn't hit on players often so when we do, unsurprising we want to keep them and equally unsurprising other teams fans want them.

Yes. Was definitely baiting :D ...I see your point too as you are likely only seeing the overvalued public trade posts. In the Magic forums- its 90% self-hatred. I guess it’s like the “little brother” thing. “He’s mine to pick on but you better not”

I think this might be a fair deal depending on who the filler is

I have the Minnesota fans still mostly optimistic that their FO can work things out while the Orlando fans seem to have given up on their FO. The key executives in the Orlando FO have been in their positions a few years longer than the key executives in the Minnesota FO, so the frustation is understandable.

The Russell - Wiggins trade might be mostly a lateral move, but at least Towns seems to have stopped complaining and that might be what the owner wanted.

**********************

Edit

The Minnesota fanbase does seem to be happy with the new coach.

This is terrible for Orlando. What this amounts to is trading Gordon for a lottery protected first (let's just assume Nowell + McDaniels for Anthony washes out) from a team that has made the playoffs once since 03-04, which also happened to be the only year in franchise history they advanced past the first round. That pick most likely isn't going to convey as a first round pick, it's going to convey as 2 2nds, and that is bad value for Gordon.

About a third of the league cannot trade 1sts.
The teams sitting on those picks are not interested (OKC, Utah, Hou, MEM, NO) [I know Hou was listed as interested but I am sooooo hoping that is just bad info].

That is why some rumors keep popping up: BOS due to the TPE, Turner at Indy, Minny due to the large need at pf, DEN since ORL needs SF and Barton is spare.

Just like Dipo in Houston - cannot get an offer for fair value.

Do you project McDaniels as a PF or SF?

If in ORL, I would hope they develop him as a SF. But is that the wrong idea?

I am hopeful that McDaniels will be the Wolves starting SF next season.

Utah can't trade a first until 2026 until the pick owed to Memphis is conveyed. People are suggesting we can just include a pick that 'conveys 2 years after Utah's first is conveyed to Memphis', but pretty sure that is dissallowed in the bylaws, otherwise we'd see it already. If we had a pick and matching salary (regret trading Ed Davis and Tony Bradley just b/c of the potential salary matching) Gordon would be great for us. But realistically we signed Ilyasova to sure up our defense at power forward (historically he's had good advance metrics on that end) and are more likely to be looking at cheap wing defenders.

I'd guess Beasley gets moved at some point in the next year or two. Nowell is the 6th man off the bench.

Not a big believer in Beasley as a future Wolf? Appreciate your thoughts.
