No because it really doesn't make a lot of sense. Sorry Kings fans who are excited about this. I mean in theory Delon and Buddy as your backup guard rotation is pretty good really. But Buddy doesn't like coming off the bench for whatever reason and the problem remains the frontcourt.

It's cheap sure, but I don't know that I waste any assets on a 4th guard with so many questions up front.

I think you underestimate how much Kings fans hate CoJo. Remember how much Mavs fans hated Barnes and were so happy to see him leave no matter what? Same thing here.

One move at a time. The Kings have wanted to upgrade the backup PG position all season and tonight they accomplished that goal. Dismissing the move because of other needs is weird.

I wonder if you could swap Joseph and a 2nd or two for Delon Wright. He's a better two-way guy than Joseph, isn't too old, his future salary fits your margins; Pistons still get a depth guard back in Joseph and can cut him next year and keep whatever sweeteners the teams agree on.

I like it for both. Kings get a better backup and Pistons get two picks. Nothing mind blowing but I don't see anything to hate on for either team.

Warriors fans hated him. A few ignorant Mavs fans who don't understand Dallas made him a 1st option because Dirk was 40 and the team had no talent at all disliked him.

I always liked Barnes. Was basically the only person on this board who understood he was going to opt out of $25M and sign a big new multiyear deal.

And like I said it's fine. They give up little and they get a useful player. But it still doesn't make much sense.

I’m gonna be honest and say that while Joseph was infuriating at times, he was also good and steady. I know this will probably cause a reaction, but Joseph wasn’t the godawful player that he’s been talked down to be. He still deserves NBA minutes and he can still play. He just didn’t have the surrounding cast to make up for his biggest deficiencies. I share the same issue with his overdribbling, but he wasn’t the guy that everyone hated on. If you only read the comments here and the tweets about him, you’d wonder how this man is in the NBA.

We had to overtly tank several games to keep the pick we used on him, and he gave us what we expected of him. We offered him a 4/64 rookie extension and he turned it down to chase the bigger role we couldn't offer him. We soured on him largely because of two numbers: 5, 32.

100%. Sacramento just wasn't the right type of team for him, we put more responsibility on him than he should be getting. He's better off on a good team where he can do more of the dirty work.

I couldn't disagree with you guys more. Pounding the rock into the paint with nowhere to go, making stupid passes, having a God awful shot, slower than molasses. How many times did this guy put up 0-0-0 on 0-4 shootung or close to it in 18 minutes. Hes not good. His defense is okay, but once a guy singles him out, they blow right by him (Monk did this 10x the last time we played them).

I've never hated a player more, and I lived thru Salmons sessions and Galloway lol.

Absolutely. He can’t be given the amount of responsibility that he was in Sacramento. That wasn’t fair to him or to the fans. I don’t believe Detroit is the team for him, but he’s likely to be cut at the end of the season. His biggest contribution to Detroit will likely be a mentorship to Hayes. It will be valuable.

He might be losing a step but our team defense sure hasn't been doing him any favors.

Was talking with a fan who mentioned Wright earlier in the day of thread, made a trade thread here.

Was Cojo + Memphis 2021, and either one of the Portland 2024, 2025 seconds.

It's a smart move. Saves money. And they can flip wright later for a second or two and get cory off the books for free
