Who won the trade?

Laker Superior: LA wins. They get their third guy and improved their title odds. Isn't that what it's all about?

Uno, Dos, Trez: Washington wins. Flexibility, a 1st, and the guys they got can play.

It's a Wash: both teams win. Lakers get the star they want, Washington gets out of a guy they don't.

Russ to Judgement: both teams lose. RWB isn't going to get LA the title, and Washington just spins their wheels again.

This is great for the Lakers. This is a really good but flawed player who is going to drive them through some RS games saving wear on Lebron and they gave up players they can replace with vet ring chasers.

Don't get this for the Wizards unless there is some significant follow up. Great now they are adding 3 more okay vets and 2 okay rookies. What is that getting a team with one star and 3 or 4 other okay vets and some meh youth? How is Beal committing to more of this after years of it? Rudderless. Feels utterly rudderless.

You clearly didn’t watch Westbrook last season.

Westbrook is a complete hog. Ball movement and shooting goes out the window when he’s dominating the ball. He’s awful in the playoffs.

Yeah I didn't watch him.

Westbrook once healthy was driving that team's push into the playoffs. Clearly. He's so much better than that pile of junk they took back. The only positive here is the financial flexibility, but its not really enough next year to do much.

Edit: I'm not sure how I feel on this one. Confused for Washington if they keep Beal. Can't even vote.

It gets them easier pieces to move. I do agree with the perspective that having Russ for the regular season will allow the Lakers to rest Davis and James but still be competitive. I don't think he's a good fit for the playoffs though.
