Spuds are far enough under the cap to absorb the difference though.

Wow good on SAS for getting a FRP. Seems like a bit of an overpay for Toronto to me.

That makes more sense. I was wondering why SA would take on that type of extra salary.

Spurs are over the cap. They’re under the tax.

BBref must not be up to date then, has them listed at $102,419,664...

IF you were willing to send out this type of compensation for Young why not do it at the beginning of the season and get a full year out of him. Weird one for Masai.

Woj adding that the Spurs are including the Pistons' 2nd rounder to Toronto. So the Raps are moving down in the draft (currently only 10 spots) rather than out.

Masai's string of winning trades has officially come to an end.

Good deal for the spurs . Seems like Toronto decided to wait until they think they can make the playoff . And then decide they need another non center non guard size player.

They don’t have any of the dead salary contracts like Aminu or Hutchinson. The Spurs were $11m over the cap before this Dragic trade. Basketball Reference isn’t great on accuracy on contracts right now. It’s pretty much Spotrac only since Pincus left Basketball Insiders and Keith Smith joined Spotrac and stopped doing his salary sheets.

Yeah, I like it for SAS with the pick.

Think I’d rather have Toronto not gotten back the 2nd and got a better player than Thad? Dragon and a lotto protected first should have returned a quality player.. But without that option, it’s not awful for Toronto. Dropping back 10-14 spots in the draft and turning dead money into a semi useful bench big… Isn’t awful for a team trying to push for a playoff series win.

Think SAS won this no matter what though.

Especially if adding Thad for no on court loss helps Toronto to a couple more wins.

That's better but I still don't like it. Again: he was going to get bought out.

Also weird that people assume he's not in the rotation for no reason. Shades of DeMarre Carroll who was good, went to SA, wasn't in the rotation, everyone wondered why, ended up just being washed

I like Eubanks but a first is a lot.

I think Masai low key made this move being really high on Eubanks. Won’t surprise me if he becomes their starter.
