Embiid might also be on the worst contract poll.

I'm surprised Wemby is 1st, had him below Jokic, SGA and Luka.

For me, it was Wemby simply because he's got 6 years of team control and won't complain if his team isn't a real title contender for at least the next 4 years. Jokic, SGA, and Luka all definitely have more immediate value, but particularly Jokic and Luka may want to shake things up if the rest of the organization is mismanaged. (SGA seems happy in OKC, but their team trajectory looks near-ideal, nothing to be upset about. No idea what would happen if Denver sputters, or if Kyrie goes off the deep end again.)

V: Shai
N: KAT

I would wait to see consistent success (and health) before crowning him.
Jokic was the fresh 2 time MVP in 22, he finished 3rd in these rankings, mo one would (or should) have taken Luka over Giannis in 2020, Luka finished 4th in MVP and had great 1st PO as a 2nd year player.

I don't think either of those votes are particularly relevant. Even at those times, Jokic and Luka were clearly one-way players with average-at-best defense that is poorly quantified in stats. Wemby has a higher ceiling than either of them.

And current Jokic doesn't have as bright of a future as Giannis did in 2020 (25 and coming off back-to-back MVPs) or Giannis & Luka in 2022 (same tier, Giannis plays offense & defense while Luka was 22 and making conference finals). Jokic might have a half-decade of top-tier play but Wemby might have 15 years.

Vote: Jokic

Don't have the longer-term value of SGA or Luka high enough to take over him.

Nom: Mitchall

Vote: Jokic. It was close between 1 & 2, and I voted Wemby; but there's no argument here. It's Jokic running away with it.

Nominate: Brunson. He's an all-star in his prime on a very good contract

Jokic wins 21 to 4 for SGA and 1 Doncic.

Nominations

Mitchell 5

Brunson 5
Cunningham 4
Davis 2
Embiid 2
Doncic 1
Towns 1
JDub 1
Haliburton 1
Morant 1

Brunson and Mitchell were tied for lead last time as well and we started with 9 so I will nominate both.

Nom: Cade. He is young, talented, and still on a rookie deal.
