First, kudos to Avdija, and to Portland for getting him. A year ago Avdija for #3, or #3 with some minor additional compensation, would have been crazy, and now it's a good discussion.
And my major reaction is: glad I'm not in the Sixers front office. If you imagine a year in which Embiid is healthy-ish, and George recovers at least some of his value, this could be a really good trade for them. Embiid / Avdija / George / McCain / Maxey, with Grimes as a 6th man, in a weak east - sure. If you imagine that Embiid is never healthy again, and George isn't climbing back off the cliff he fell from this year, it's a lousy trade for them - they're much better off taking a shot at a high upside pick who could become the best or second-best player on a contender. Personally, not an optimist re either Embiid or George, so I'd say no.
