Donkedave left me a list!

The Chicago Bulls select Collin Murray-Boyles!

CMB gives Chicago a defensive tone-setter and high-feel connector in the frontcourt. His playmaking and versatility complement scorers like Coby White and Buzelis, while his toughness fits a rebuilding team’s identity. If his shot develops, he could anchor modern, switchable lineups for years.

Damn sniped, really wanted Collin Murray-Boyles. Good pick Donkedave!

The Atlanta Hawks select Carter Bryant, who I see as the BPA at this spot.
Carter Bryant will strengthen Atlanta’s defense and give them a 3-and-D player with good length and upside.
While maybe the biggest need is a big man, Bryant’s combination of size, athleticism, and two-way potential makes him too good to pass up here.
His ability to defend multiple positions, hit spot-up threes, and play within a team concept adds valuable depth to Atlanta’s rotation.
He’s a high-upside pick who could grow into a reliable starter or high-level role player down the line.

To keep things moving I will pick for San Antonio. The Spurs select Derrik Queen. I think he is the perfect fit next to Wemby, but he is also BPA by the "best player available" on ESPN that is at a potential position of need (PF and backup center).

OKC would, in a real draft, have used #24 to try to move up a few spots for Carter Bryant or Colin Murray-Boyles. With them off the board, we'll triple down on defense, and select Noa Penda.

The Grizzlies would like to add a wing/forward to their rotation, but Carter Bryant, Cedric Coward and Noa Essengue are already off the board and Nique Clifford just doesn't offer the kind of upside they'd like to get just outside of the lottery.

While they could go with another son of a former NBA player and choose Jase Richardson, the acquisitions of KCP and Cole Anthony along with the development Scottie Pippen Jr might not leave enough minutes for him in the backcourt.

Although adding the shooting skills of a player like Liam McNeeley is another intriguing prospect to consider, the need for more frontcourt depth behind JJJ/Zach Edey and variety of options (Danny Wolf, Thomas Sorber, Joan Beringer, Maxime Raynaud) still on the board leads me to select Asa Newell, PF/C from Georgia with the 16th pick in the 2025 NBA Draft.

Rob Dillingham may or may not ever step up to be a starting or even good backup PG for the Wolves. Egor Demin is young and ridiculously tall for a player with some of the best passing instincts and skills coming into the league. He doesn't have a good shot, but with his youth the Wolves are going to take a shot on his shot coming around. Egor Demin PG/SG BYU.

I have Durantbird's list for Washington. With the 18th pick the Wizards select Jase Richardson. They were hoping for Demin or Queen to end up here, but instead they take the advanced metrics darling. Richardson is a fabulous off-ball mover, has a quick shooting stroke, and likely has more on-ball creation than he could show in college. He is also a nice fit next to Carrington.

With the 20th Pick, Miami selects Nique Clifford. 3 and D plus, can handle and great rebounder. Could turn into a lead wing/ ball handling starter.
Jordan Walsh goes top 10 in a 2023 redraft.

With the 21st pick, the Utah Jazz select Nolan Traore.

Image

This was a hard decision (between Traore and Theiro for me), but Traore had the most impressive summer of an international player and looked the part of a top 5 pick until he struggled in the French league. I think there was a lot at play there beyond being an 18 year old in a very good league, and that if he played in college he'd likely have a season that looked somewhat similar to Fears. He is blindingly fast and elite at creating paint touches and will likely benefit from the spread NBA court. There are big questions about his shooting, and now Utah has three point guard prospects they are trying to sort between, but I can't ignore the upside here.

The Atlanta Hawks select Thomas Sorber.
A good defensive center with an impressive wingspan, which is exactly what Atlanta needs behind Okongwu.
High floor, but maybe not a very high ceiling.

Wasn't expecting Danny Wolf to still be on the board at #24; OKC takes him.

I'm going to be tied up here for a bit. This is what I would put as the Phoenix Suns big board (or what is remaining of it) at this point:
1) Fleming
2) Hugo
3) Saraf
4) Thiero
5) Yang

The Orlando Magic select Rasheer Fleming from the Saint Joseph's University.

Orlando went BPA with Maxime Raynaud off the board.

Fleming is the prototypical Magic pick. Wingspan + defense.

Orlando could have approached this draft in various ways, they desperately need front court help but opted for the upside play here and in preparation for a potential MoWagner-less half of the season.

With the 28th pick the Celtics pick Ben Saraf.
It’s tricky, they need bigs with Horford and Kornet free agents and KP possibly on the block. But I am influenced a bit by Saraf recent play on a big stage. He is probably BPA here so he’s the pick.

Based on this I think PHX goes with Hugo Gonzalez
