18 mil isn’t what it used to be. Sarcastic and not.

Think this is a good deal for Dallas. The only bad part is AD not playing center - or not being traded.

This as a standalone is a good contract imo.. I would’ve even tried to get the fourth year in there at 18-20 mil..

Hes making a tad more percent of the cap than now. Not a bargain but fair/maintains his trade value.

I also think Dallas hangs on to Lively. Lively is cheap, cost-controlled for 2 more years at a cheap deal at 5 and 7.2 Million respectively. In all likelihood AD and Gafford both will miss 8-15 games, Lively doesn't really overlap skill-set wise to either AD or Gafford in what he can provide Dallas compared to the other two. AD also prefers to play PF.

My prediciton is Dallas keeps the gang (Top 9-10) together. Develop Flagg on-ball and run a lot of action through Flagg/Center or Flagg/AD with a 7' always in the Dunkers spot. I'm not overly optimistic on this prediciton but it definitely doubles and triples down on Size and Defense while giving Flagg a ton of reps offensively, which will supercharge his learning curve.

Yeah, I'd probably keep Lively too.
Trade options are any of PJ, Naji, Caleb, Klay and small contract fillers depending on return.

Yeah, I think fair is good? Nothing to be excited about but don’t understand anyone being upset. Should be worth more locked up than as an expiring once he can be traded (assuming he got too big a raise to be traded)

I think PJ is the odd big out.

Between Flagg, Martin, Naji, Prosper you have your 4 minutes behind AD and Dallas doesn’t force AD to play any minutes that he doesn’t want.

If it keeps AD healthy, I guess that’s good news?

I think Washington could be traded, but if not their solve is going to be Washington plays mostly 3 and Flagg probably plays some guard. In fact I would expect if all are still here to see some Lively or Gafford/AD/Washington/Christie or Klay/Flagg or Marshall lineups. Where they just play big lead guards.

But hopefully some roster balance is still coming.

Underrated element here. Because he agreed now before the start of the new league year, there's no six-month trade restriction.

Maybe a Grayson Allen for Daniel Gafford swap incoming? The Mavericks can use more shooting and everyone knows the Suns needs a solid center.

Slight overpay, but the real kicker is he'll need to play starter minutes or at a starter lvl to gain some positive value. I'm sure once he's geared up for a stretch they'll try to flip him asap.

Can't see that happening unless PHO adds something, with DAL having Klay and Christie, SG position is covered (maybe an upgrade over Klay would be nice, which Allen is not).

I don't have it In me for something as ambitious as your thread. I tried to imitate NYG once and I had to ice up for like 3 weeks. A deal like I posted is a blockbuster for me.
