I think Charlotte should aim higher, and leverage 4 outside 1st round picks here.

I honestly thought this reply was a joke at first. The Hornets aren’t in a position to compete and need to keep stacking draft picks to either be ready for a star trade when available, or more likely to just keep taking shots through the draft to find a guy who can help turn the franchise around.

You guys already had a higher upside C on the team in Mark and chose picks instead. A stop gap C like Capela, Wagner, Kornet, Lopez for (asset) free is going to be the best value

We will see.

That means Walker Kessler possibly? They can offer the Jazz the Mavericks 2027 1st round pick and the Heat 2027 or 2028 1st round pick and Liam McNeeley. Nic Claxton and Jarett Allen could also be a possibly.

since Spotrac doesn’t have any deals official..

Simons to Dallas
Martin, Hardy to Boston
Gafford and Sexton to Charlotte
Nurkic, Okogie to Utah

And you decide how Charlotte pays whoever is owed value?

Boston saves 14~ mil after the roster spot.
Dallas gets a scoring guard and some asset.
Charlotte gets a good enough center and uses MLE on another.

Utah maybe doesn’t have to pay a second I. The Sexton deal if they take on okogie’s 8 mil?

Assume if it was Kessler, it would have just been part of this deal.

I’m a little worried that Charlotte is working itself into Myles Turner territory? They’re seemingly working on changing the culture, they have future (but not now) guys at center, and they have expirings and assets of all varieties there…

Turner is certainly a target I see for them.
But also Claxton could be their target.

OK just so everybody can hate it

They send Miles Bridges to the Bulls for expiring Nikola Vucevic and expiring Jevon Carter

They aren't in desperation mode to fix everything right F'n now. They get a veteran durable center for one year pushing the decision on a long term starter back one year. Carter is a streaky shooting PG off the bench. They free up $28M of cap space next summer to look for that center and whoever else. They have Miller, Ball and Sexton, just drafted Knueppel might as well play him

The Bulls get a starting 2 way SF with 2 years on his contract, Bridges takes some pressure off Buzellis to score, the Bulls have the freedom to trade at least one maybe 3 of Huerter, Dosunmu or White, even Okoro or Williams.

I think it's gonna be someone younger and not really starter caliber like Day'ron Sharpe, or a trade for a stretch big like Vucevic so that Lee can spam threes all game

Oh, absolutely. He's been "coveted" there for a long time. And, I'm sure, after seeing Haliburton and the system flow so well with a stretch 4, Charlotte probably feels pretty similarly about their system thriving in that manner, too?

I don't think I trust Lee to coach it but yes I want the personnel.

The idea of a healthy LaMelo in Indiana's offense is some next level ****

There's just a ton of similarity in terms of passing vision and ability to stretch the floor between those two.

last year it was all about trying to play the Boston offence with all 5 out, so year they would love Myles

That would be a big mistake. Clint Capela is not a starting level in the year 2025.The Hornets should aim a lot higher than this.

JMAC3 wrote:If Charlotte offered the salary to match Embiid how many first rounders would we need to send?

Grant Williams, Miles Bridges, Josh Green for Embiid. I don't think that either team would have interest but at least worth thinking about I suppose.

I will give you Embiid for minimal value in exchange, but I only ask that we don't have to take the wifebeater in return. I have no time for Miles Bridges.
