22.5 Million in dead money over 5 years for the bucks. They're basically paying nearly 50m/yr to get Turner

Ugly and brutal for Indy. Especially at that low of salary.

Has to be a sign and trade. Essentially has to require Kuzma's involvement, too. Serious ugh...

HOLY CRAP. STRETCH WAIVING DAME....

Got to hand it to the Bucks here. Got Turner on a great deal, likely have buy in from Giannis.

It kind of feels like the Bucks are all in on the next 1-3 years with Giannis and a wide open conference, then will pick up the pieces. I think the Dame Stretch provision lines up with the year they get control of their draft assets back.

Waiving Dame... Can't see that one looking good in a few seasons.

And just silly from the Pacers, I get it without Hali this season isn't happening, but c'mon, breaking up a game 7 finals squad not wanting to pay Turner who signed at a perfectly reasonable cost?
I bought a boat.

Wow that's some dead salary, they had to do something to keep Giannis though

It's not all that great of a deal when combined with the dead $$ of Dame to get him.

Kinda expected after that finals showing but it's gotta sting for Indiana fans.

The Pacers were more than the sum of their parts and it's very difficult to recreate that type of synergy. They were a Game 7 Haliburton injury away from being Champs IMO. This is just an owner who doesn't want to spend.

Think they felt they deserve a discount for increasing his salary previous. Not sure why they let him walk over 5 million annually.

Jake Fischer reporting this too. It's either absolutely misreading the market at large, or complete mismanagement from Indy. Or, they just really didn't like Myles as a player....

This sucks. Myles wasn't All-NBA or anything, but he was REALLY good. And even better in the city/locker room. Absolutely awesome dude. Very well adjusted/even keel. Hate losing him, especially when he wanted to stick around.

WOAH! I am staunchly against waiving/stretching almost any amount of money but goddamn that's a lot of money.

Love the Turner addition, hate it for Indy, but wow this whole shake up I feel makes the East even worse.

Indy wouldn't budge from paying $20m per, meanwhile Milwaukee is ecstatic to pay Myles $50m per year. Sheesh...

Maybe - also is this gonna tempt the Suns to do the same with Brad Beal. They won't seem so crazy since the Bucks also did it

Very true but also doing something - I don't want to call it desperate - but they absolutely had to figure out how to make something happen.

Good bold move for them really.

I understand that unforeseen injuries have played a big part in this, but so far the main "casualties" of the new CBA have been BOS and IND. Are deep, well built teams with no tier 1 MVP candidates/superstars the type of teams that fans wanted to see broken up?

I think what fans really hated was guys like KD/Steph and Lebron/Wade teaming up in free agency. You don't want two of the MVP caliber players teaming up, but that can still happen in the new CBA. I hate what this is doing to the game.
