Some type of deal around GS/DEN/MKE could make sense for everyone.
Bucks end up with Yaxel and Watson and whatever bad salary required
GS ends up with Herro, JJJ, Turner
DEN gets Jaku, salary relief (even if expiring), TPE from MKE and some minor assets

Making the salary work (not to mention they’d likely throw a pick or two in over Yaxel) is the issue. If GS tries to make it work without Jimmy, would need to put in KP, Moody, Dray and maybe Podz. Dray means it likely don’t happen till December

Could it be arranged where it is done in two deals, where Butler is moved from MKE to DEN with an agreement he would be bought out and able to return to GS on a min deal?

I think you'd have to reverse the order, there's no way Denver would be willing to have Butler's salary on the books post-buyout

Fair enough but my point was to arrange it so he could go back. I guess that’s another layer of appeal for GS

Yeah I see (and like) the idea, but I think it would be near impossible to execute since you'd have to do a GSW/DEN deal first and then a DEN/MIL that sends both Watson and Butler to the Bucks

If that could be pulled off, it’d be really interesting. I’d throw in a couple firsts and a post Steph swap for that

At first glance this is really bad for the Bucks. Butler may not be able to play in 2026-27 or not until after the Allstar break. You're giving up Herro, and JJJ who were just gotten for GA, Maybe Turner and Kuzma for Butler in theory. But the Bucks have no #1 pick in 2027 so they can't just bottom out this season.

I think it’s a good trade proposal, in that I’d hate it, but I think the Warriors would have to consider it. I’d hate losing Yaxel, and would also hate having to root for Herro, but this provides them with the shooting and scoring they desperately needed last season. At least they wouldn’t be losing draft picks, or taking back injury-prone old guys.

like the framework and gusto of this deal. Unsure if either team would do it, specifically GSW, but it would make them pick up the phone and I think there are wheels with tread here. Good work, really!

I think the Dubs should keep Yaxel. These MIl guys dont have all that much value

No chance the Bucks would give Jacquez in this situation. If anything, warriors should throw in a 1st. Jimmy is 36 and coming off a torn ACL.

Then definitely take Yaxel out. Would probably do that anyway. Replace him with a protected first, replace JJJ with KPJ

the problem no one has mentioned is that Turner would be like our 3rd best center while we'd then have 4 positionally locked centers on the roster. Add in Dray probably plays some minutes at center as well and we'd need a 3rd team to balance the roster.

2 of the 3 centers can’t play back to backs at best and will miss significant time at worst. Both have tradeable contracts. Cross that bridge when we get to it

Still having 4 positionally locked centers with a 5th capable playing center when Kerr doesn't even like playing centers is terrible roster construction. Turner just doesn't add anything to this deal. Hero and JJJ would have roles but we'd be looking to move at least 1 of our centers to another team, which is why I said we'd need a 3rd team to balance the roster. If Turner has value then it should be easy to find value for him from another team.

The “Kerr don’t like to play centers” is a weird myth up there with believing he loves 3 and 4 guard lineups. Neither is true. He doesn’t like playing unskilled centers that are big and basically that’s it. Such is not the case with any of the 4 centers in question. 3 can shoot from the perimeter and the the other is a good roll threat.

All have contracts that could be useful in trade for additions in season. Move one of them then

No, I think Horford, and/or more likely KP, would be moved in another deal during the season. Inclined to keep the actual center that can play back to back games in this scenario for the short term at least

There's no reason to go into the season with 4 centers, which is why you're agreeing that there should be a 3rd team in this deal whether it's to take KP, Horford or Turner it doesn't really matter. There's just not enough minutes to play all of them.

How about a simplified version Turner, Kuzma, and LaVert for Butler and a 2027 #1 top 14 protected. This gets the Bucks out of Turner's contract moving the expiring contracts of Kuzma and LaVert they get a maybe #1 and Butler who if healthy in Jan/Feb might be a trade chip to get something at the deadline. For the GSW they get Turner who they can start at Center and use KP at power forward. And they get to keep Yaxel.

This is not a perfect trade for either team but both of them have major issues with their rosters. There's the what happens if the 2027 pick doesn't convey, the W's have no 2nds to send as an alterative, maybe the pick rolls over with top 10 protection in 2028 then extinguished if not conveyed?

No one is agreeing with that, and if you gathered they were, I would suggest further reading comprehension with all due respect.

And when half of the 4 centers are high health risks to miss time, yes it’s good to keep 4 if even for a short term to avoid the small ball lineups Kerr alledgedly loves so much

Turner, LeVert nor Kuzma are worth a first imo. Would rather gamble on Jimmy coming back.
